Jobvite review, with texting tools for hourly hiring and AI terms that leave the checking to you
Jobvite, from Employ, has texting and mobile tools for hourly and frontline hiring. It can screen candidates by text, offer interview times and get offers signed in one system. You buy the core by quote and add AI and other products on top. Its terms leave the checking of AI output to you. A fee notice can also arrive after your cancel date.
Jobvite offers tools for hourly and frontline hiring, and its contract puts the checking on you
Jobvite is an applicant tracking system from Employ. It has texting and mobile tools for hourly and frontline hiring. Under Employ’s terms, the customer stays responsible for checking the AI’s output.
You hire many people for similar roles and want to text candidates. You want job posting, scheduling and signed offers in one system. You are happy to buy the core system first and add products later.
You need a published price to compare before a sales call. You need to cancel in the middle of a term. You want the vendor to carry responsibility for the AI’s output.
By quote. The core system comes first, and products such as Onboarding, AI Companion and recruitment marketing are added on top. UK government awards to Jobvite between 2018 and 2025 ran from £12,398 to £28,507.84.
What you get when you buy Jobvite
A Jobvite quote can cover very different things, so it helps to know the parts before you talk to sales. Jobvite is a core applicant tracking system with other products sold around it. Ask Employ to name every product in your quote.
The core system is where a hiring team works every day. It keeps one profile for each candidate, with the full history of applications and interactions. Admins can set up a separate hiring process by department, location, role and more. So different teams can follow different steps. Job Broadcast publishes job postings to over 20 job boards, including LinkedIn, Indeed, GlassDoor and ZipRecruiter. So you post once instead of on each board. When a candidate is ready, native eSignature signs and delivers offers and contracts from within Jobvite. Analytics gives a visual summary of how your hiring is doing.
For hourly and frontline hiring, Jobvite adds tools that work by text and on a phone. Its texting tool is called Intelligent Messaging, and for high-volume hiring it includes an automated AI-powered chatbot. Smart Self-Scheduling sends candidates a set of proposed times based on interviewer availability. A Mobile Hiring Team App gives hiring teams in-app messaging and mobile evaluation forms for candidate feedback. Together, these tools cover the steps from the first text to interview feedback. Recruitment Marketing helps move candidates from first touch to hire.
Four more products sit around the core. Source & CRM identifies candidates, groups talent into segments and builds relationships at scale. Employee referral software puts your employees’ networks to work. Internal Mobility lets employees find positions inside the company. Managed Services is a team that Jobvite sells, made up of Jobvite-certified experts. They handle system administration, data management, campaigns, reporting and career site updates. Each is added on top of the core, so decide which ones you need before you ask for a price.
The AI needs the closest look, because it can act on candidates. Jobvite evaluates each candidate at every step of the process. AI chatbots can screen candidates, and AI can schedule interviews and automate candidate outreach. It turns match probabilities into grades that the user sees. Its AI can help automatically qualify or disqualify candidates based on skills and match them to roles. Under Employ’s AI terms, checking that output is your job. Jobvite removes name, email address, address, phone number, age, race, gender and ethnicity from the model’s consideration.
Employ sells further AI Companions on top of the ATS. The AI Screening Companion generates personalised rejection emails with feedback. The AI Sourcing Companion automatically handles knock-out questions, initial interviews and candidate scoring. The AI Interview Companion was formerly called Pillar, and Employ announced its purchase of Pillar on 5 March 2025. The AI Interview Companion is priced by custom quote. Ask whether the AI terms cover each companion you buy.
Our guide to applicant tracking systems covers how the rest of this market handles the same questions.
Where Jobvite helps a hiring team
Five points work in a hiring team’s favour. The first two remove manual steps between an application and a signed offer. The other three cover linking your HR systems, checking security and deleting candidate data.
Candidates can be screened by text
Intelligent Messaging can send pre-screen forms by text. It can then route candidates automatically based on their answers. Jobvite keeps audit trails and logs of the text conversations. Jobvite’s ATS also runs a fully digital hiring and onboarding process, optimised across all devices. For a team that hires hourly staff, that means less manual sorting before a person looks at an application.
An offer can be signed without leaving the system
Native eSignature signs and delivers offers and contracts from within Jobvite, without outside integrations. That is one fewer tool to buy and connect at the moment a candidate accepts.
It connects to HR systems you may already run
An HRIS is the system that holds your employee records. Jobvite has pre-built HRIS integrations with ADP, Oracle, Workday, UKG, Infor, SAP, BambooHR and others. Staff can sign in with their company login through Azure, Okta and OneLogin. Jobvite also has pre-built integrations with other applicant tracking systems, including Oracle Recruiting Cloud, Taleo, Workday, iCIMS, Infor and SuccessFactors. Ask whether those help if you are moving from one of them, or running two side by side.
An independent auditor issued its SOC 2 report
Schellman, an independent third-party auditor, issued Jobvite by Employ’s SOC 2 Type 2 report. Jobvite’s processes adhere to ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018 and are SOC 2 Type II compliant. Employ’s terms also commit it to notify the customer of a data breach within 48 hours of discovery. Ask for the report before you sign.
Candidate data can be deleted on schedule or on request
Customers can automatically purge candidate data under their retention policies. They can also delete one candidate record on request. Jobvite lets customers set data retention policies by geographic region.
The customers Jobvite points to, and what they report
Jobvite aims at high-growth and established enterprise and medium-sized companies. Jobvite and its sister brands JazzHR and Lever support more than 23,000 customers. Dent Wizard and the retailer below hire a mobile or high-volume workforce. GroupM and Samtec run many teams under one group. Each result comes from a customer story and belongs to the products that customer used.
Noble, a network of over 1,400 teachers and administration staff
Noble reports that recruiters spend 30% of their time on top-of-funnel candidates. They used to spend 80% on screening and sourcing.
Dent Wizard, with a mobile workforce
Nearly 90% of Dent Wizard’s 3,000 technicians are part of its mobile workforce. Dent Wizard added Jobvite ATS, CRM and Intelligent Messaging. It reports a double-digit cut in time to hire. It also reports 20% more applicants per job posting.
Jackson Family Wines, with referrals through the system
Jackson Family Wines has over 1,400 employees worldwide. It reports hiring more than 200 employees through referrals submitted into Jobvite within months of onboarding the system. Employees and hiring managers can also look up the status of job openings in it.
A large national retailer, hiring at volume
Within months of investing in Jobvite, a national retailer hired more than 90,000 new employees.
GroupM and Samtec, companies with many teams
GroupM is based in the UK and is made up of a conglomerate of different companies. GroupM drove its average time to hire down to 29 days using Jobvite ATS and CRM. Samtec uses Jobvite as its primary ATS for all its talent acquisition teams worldwide. Samtec has grown to $800 million in total sales.
Where the contract and the AI terms leave work to you
Most of Jobvite’s limits sit in the contract and the AI terms, not on the screen. They decide who carries the risk if something goes wrong, so read them before you sign.
Fees are non-refundable except as stated
Under Employ’s terms, fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable except as stated. Termination does not entitle the customer to a refund. The one exception is unused fees when Employ’s material breach caused the termination.
A notice of new fees can arrive after your deadline to cancel
Unless the order form provides otherwise, the term renews automatically for 12-month periods. To stop that, either party must give written notice at least 60 days before the term ends. Employ may adjust pricing for a renewal term. It can do so with at least 30 days’ notice of fee changes before the service term ends. So a notice of new fees can reach you after the date you needed to cancel by. Employ may also change fees for a renewal term if the renewal reduces units, volume, term or products.
You make the final call, and you carry the checking of the AI
Employ builds its AI to enhance human insight and not override it. Employ’s promise is that you make the final call. Its AI terms add that AI may make errors, hallucinate and introduce bias. They also say the customer remains fully responsible for reviewing the output. So the final call and the checking both sit with you. Employ’s AI Companions are built in collaboration with IBM watsonx, to support and not replace your decision-making.
Ask for the bias audit report
The ATS includes Bias Blocker, which removes bias from the screening process. Employ conducts independent bias audits in real time. Employ includes an item labelled “AI Bias Audit Results” among its Jobvite legal documents. Ask for that report, the auditor’s name, the dates and the tests used.
Your input data can train AI if you agree to it
The customer may instruct, direct or consent to its input data being used for training or fine-tuning. If it does, Employ may use that data on an anonymised or aggregated basis. That training can be of models from Employ or its third-party AI providers. Separately, the customer consents to Employ using its AI-related usage data. Employ uses it to optimise, improve and provide AI or the services.
The AI terms also cover outside providers and legal notices
Employ may subcontract AI in whole or in part to a third party. A customer may use its own AI provider. That use is at the customer’s own risk, and no liability accrues to Employ. Entering into the AI addendum satisfies or waives any legally required disclosure that the services contain AI. Ask your legal team what that means for the notices you give candidates.
The uptime promise is 99.5%, and the remedy is capped
Employ’s standard service terms commit to 99.5% platform uptime. If Employ misses that and the impact exceeds $10, the customer may request compensation. The amount is 10 times the amount paid for the downtime period. This compensation is not a refund and cannot be exchanged for cash. It is capped at 30 days of paid service. The customer must also have paid any outstanding invoice.
Candidate data sits in three AWS regions
Jobvite by Employ uses AWS regions US-East1, US-East2 and US-West2. Customers can set data retention by geographic region. If candidate data must stay in a set country, that choice matters. You may be able to set retention for the region that holds your data. So ask which region that is and whether you can choose it.
An outside company reads CVs for Jobvite
Employ uses Daxtra Technologies Limited, an outside company, to read CVs for Jobvite software in the UK and USA. A CV holds personal data, so ask what Daxtra does with it and for how long.
Disputes go to arbitration in New York
Employ’s terms are governed by the internal laws of the State of New York. They send disputes to binding arbitration in New York, NY. Ask your legal team what that would mean for you if a dispute arose.
Jobvite’s website partly meets the entry level of web accessibility
Jobvite conforms partially with WCAG 2.2 level A on its website. That is the lowest of the three levels of the web accessibility guidelines. Candidates with disabilities use career sites and application forms, so ask which parts of those pages meet the standard.
What Jobvite costs, how it renews and how you leave
Four things can change what you pay for Jobvite. They are the products in your quote, the support level, your headcount and the renewal terms. Jobvite is priced by quote, so each one is a question for Employ.
Support is part of the price. Empower support is included in the subscription fees unless an alternative level is specified. Empower Plus, Elite and Elite Plus are offered for an additional fee. Managed Services is a separate team that Jobvite sells.
Headcount can change the price. On a multi-year term, Employ assesses employee volume above the Employee Limit at each order form anniversary. If your company grows, ask what each step above the limit costs.
UK public bodies have bought Jobvite, and their contract notices are public. The Department for International Trade awarded Jobvite a contract worth £12,500 total, running 30 September 2024 to 29 September 2025. The Cabinet Office made a direct single-tender award of £18,820 for 5 March 2020 to 4 March 2021. Another award ran from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021 at a total value of £28,507.84. The lowest, £12,398, ran from 1 June 2018 to 1 January 2019. These are only a rough guide, because a public body’s term, size and products may differ from yours.
Renewal is automatic for 12-month periods unless the order form provides otherwise. Either party can stop it by giving written notice at least 60 days before the term ends. Fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable except as stated.
Your candidate records leave with you only if you take them in time. Employ starts deleting all customer data from production systems 30 days after termination, so plan the export before then. That deletion is complete by 45 days. Data in backups is deleted by 200 days after the termination date unless the customer directs otherwise. Get in writing how your records come out in bulk before you sign.
You could also run hiring steps with agents built on your own systems. We have mapped what that looks like. The HR Agent Map
Eleven questions to put to Employ before you sign
Jobvite is sold by quote, and its terms leave several jobs to the buyer. These questions turn the points above into answers you can hold Employ to. Ask for each answer in writing. Where an answer affects what you pay or can do, ask for it in the order form.
- Which products are in our quote, what does each one cost, and which are optional? Good answer: A price for each product, with the same list repeated for the renewal term.
- When will you tell us the renewal price, and is that before our 60-day deadline to cancel? Good answer: A renewal price in the order form, or a price notice that comes before the cancellation deadline.
- What is our Employee Limit, and what happens to the price if our headcount goes above it? Good answer: A stated limit, and a price for each step above it, written into the order form.
- Which AI features are switched on in our account today, and who can switch them on or off? Good answer: A list of features that are off until a named administrator turns them on.
- Will you confirm in writing whether our candidate data and our usage data will train any model? Good answer: A written answer for each kind of data, with a setting that we control.
- Who runs the independent bias audits, and can we have the latest report? Good answer: A named auditor, a date, the tests used and the full report.
- Which of our legal notices to candidates does the AI addendum cover, and which stay with us? Good answer: A written list for each country where we hire.
- Is the 99.5% uptime measured by month or by year, and which products does it cover? Good answer: A stated period and a list of covered products, including texting and the career site.
- Which AWS region will hold our candidates’ data, and can we choose it? Good answer: A named region in the contract, with a retention period set for that region.
- How do our candidate records and history come out in bulk when the contract ends? Good answer: A stated file format, delivered before deletion starts 30 days after termination.
- Which parts of the career site and the application form meet the accessibility standard? Good answer: A written conformance report that covers the pages candidates use.
Alternatives to Jobvite
If Jobvite comes off your shortlist, look at Lever, JazzHR, Greenhouse, iCIMS, SmartRecruiters or Workable. Buying nothing is a seventh option.
Lever and JazzHR share an owner with Jobvite. Employ is the parent company of JazzHR, Jobvite, Lever and NXTThingRPO. Lever’s core platform includes AI-powered screening. Jobvite adds its AI products to the core system. JazzHR is small business recruiting software. Its standard pricing does not apply to organisations with over 250 employees.
iCIMS announced general availability of High Volume Hiring on 9 July 2026. It combines conversational AI with a mobile hiring workspace. That covers similar ground to Jobvite’s chatbot and mobile app for hiring teams.
SmartRecruiters differs in what its AI is said to do. Under its AI addendum, its applications do not independently evaluate, score or rank candidates. They are also not intended as the sole or primary basis for employment decisions. In the same addendum, outputs may contain errors and the customer is solely responsible for any reliance on outputs. So both vendors leave the checking with you. SmartRecruiters gives a 99.9 percent annual system availability figure in its service terms. Jobvite’s standard terms commit to 99.5% platform uptime, so compare the two over the same period.
Greenhouse includes a recruiting CRM in its ATS, so a prospect becomes a candidate with no import or second login. Workable’s pricing offers employee bands from 1 to 20 and 21 to 50, up to 801 to 1,000 employees. That gives you a starting point from the size of your company.
Buying nothing means tracking candidates in the tools you use today. Count how many roles you hire for in a year first. Then decide what record you must keep of each candidate’s steps. Our market guide covers the choices in more detail.
