Eletive

Eletive runs pulse surveys and can reach staff who have no work computer. Its plans split the features, and Eletive customises pricing to team size, complexity and needs. Anonymity depends on group-size settings your team picks. The AI that reads comments sits in Professional and works in English.

Eletive suits mixed workforces, but the plan and your needs decide the rest

In one line

Eletive runs engagement surveys that reach staff with or without a desk. Comments AI, Attrition Risk and the Export API sit in Professional.

Buy it if

Part of your workforce has no work computer or phone. You want managers to see group results only. You can agree a price based on your team size and needs.

Do not buy it if

You need a price list before any call. You need comment AI that reads many languages without translating first. You want every feature without choosing a plan.

Price

Eletive customises pricing to team size, complexity and needs. It sells Essential, Standard and Professional. Plans are user-based rather than usage-limited.

How Eletive repeats surveys, reaches staff and protects answers

Eletive repeats pulse surveys on a schedule, and the questions rotate. A schedule can send surveys on a repeating frequency, for example weekly or monthly, or manually. The questionnaire has 46 driver questions across 11 drivers of engagement. The pulse algorithm picks questions for each employee. The longer since a question was answered, the more likely it is sent. Administrators can add custom drivers and questions on a 1 to 5 scale.

Scores mean more with something to compare them against. Eletive benchmarks results against a database of 3M+ results. Standard benchmarks compare the engagement index against all other Eletive users. Advanced benchmarks can compare against a specific industry, a group, and cuts such as country, region and blue-collar against white-collar. The eNPS question asks how likely staff are to recommend the employer. Eletive’s analysis of it separates what promoters praise from what detractors raise as concerns.

Staff without a work email can still answer. Kiosk mode lets employees without email answer on a shared device with a code. SMS sends survey invitations to employees’ phones. The iOS and Android apps are in every plan. Slack and Microsoft Teams connections let employees reach surveys, goals and notifications. A low participation notification fires when under 60% have answered about three days before the survey closes.

Managers see groups, not individuals. A manager gets a group’s report only once the minimum number of employees, normally 5, has answered. By default managers see comments in their groups. An admin can turn comments off for each way of grouping staff. An admin can also switch off live results per group. Then no one, including administrators, sees results or comments for that group until the survey closes. Open-ended questions are skippable and this cannot be changed.

Follow-up can keep the employee anonymous. When a manager or admin answers a comment, the employee sees who wrote the answer. If the employee replies, the employee stays anonymous. Supportive chat lets admins and managers hold anonymous conversations with employees who scored low on sensitive questions. Managers cannot see which employee has stress symptoms.

A connected HR system keeps the user list current. Connecting a supported HR system syncs employee data to create, update and delete users in Eletive. Eletive connects to HR systems including Trinet, UKG, Visma Nmbrs, Workday and Zoho People. The Export API moves Eletive data to other systems. Only admins can use it. Our guide to employee engagement software covers how the rest of this market handles anonymity.

Reach, AI controls and help acting on results

Eletive’s strengths fall in four places. It reaches staff away from desks. It keeps AI and personal data under administrator control. It helps managers act on results.

Reach beyond the desk

Eletive is designed to reach frontline and deskless workers. That includes staff without a work computer or phone. Eletive supplies change-management templates, slide decks, videos and QR code posters with kiosk codes. It supports over 40 languages. Translations of some minority languages may not match the quality of others.

AI you control feature by feature

Each AI feature can be switched on and off on its own. Eletive tells customers that customer data is never used to train or fine-tune AI models. Eletive uses Amazon Web Services for AI processing in the EU, with no transfer outside the European Economic Area. Copilot only reads data the user already has permission to view.

Comments scanned for personal data

Eletive scans open-ended comments for GDPR-sensitive personal data. The customer can auto-redact, review manually or release each comment. The AI Writing Assistant also rewrites comments to reduce identifiable language while retaining intent. Employees choose before submitting whether to anonymise, translate or adjust tone.

Help acting on results

Action plans connect actions to survey results and track progress. Organisational psychologists write the suggested actions for each question, and admins can write their own. Real-time alerts notify managers and employees when results need quick action.

What customers report about taking part

Eletive is typically used in organisations of 500 to 10,000 employees. Customers well outside that range also use it, as the cards below show. Each result belongs to the customer named.

Drei, 1,600 staff in Austria

Drei reports an 80% participation rate in its first Eletive survey. Drei involved its Works Council early in the rollout.

Xella, 4,500 staff in Europe

Xella reports a 69% participation rate among blue-collar workers using the kiosk code.

Pollmann, mostly production staff

Pollmann International has 1,400 employees, 80% in production roles. It reports 75% participation globally and 98% in China.

AkzoNobel and Mölnlycke

AkzoNobel has 34,100 employees. It reports close to 90% participation and 43,000 employee comments. Mölnlycke reports 94% participation across 8,500 employees.

Customers below 500 staff

Sollentunahem, a Swedish municipal housing company, has 75 employees. It has used Eletive since 2020. Rutgers in the Netherlands has a team of 130 employees.

Public tender

RISE Research Institutes of Sweden picked five suppliers in a 2024 tender for an employee survey tool. Eletive AB was one of them. RISE needed a group-wide measurement a few times a year.

Eletive launched in late 2014. More than 1,000 organisations use it. Accel-KKR announced a significant growth investment in Eletive on 5 November 2025. The terms were not disclosed.

Plan splits, English comments and anonymity settings

The plan decides which features you get. Group-size settings decide how private answers stay. Comment AI works in English. Prediction and AI suppliers need a plain explanation to staff.

Professional holds comment AI and prediction

Comments AI is in the Professional plan only. Smart suggested actions and Action impact analysis are Professional only too. So is Attrition Risk.

Comments AI reads English

Comments AI analyses in English. Comments in other languages are first translated to English. It needs at least 5 comments per theme to run an analysis. It takes up to 2 days to update after a survey. It leaves out comments that carry no statement it can evaluate.

Anonymity is a setting

The default smallest group is 5, and an administrator can change it. Lifecycle surveys default to 3. Pulse reports pool results over several surveys. A group can appear although fewer than 5 people answered the latest one.

Two statements on answers

Eletive tells employees that all answers are anonymous and only they see their own. The Export API can extract individual answers, with its own smallest-group setting and a lowest limit of 3. Snapshot Surveys are never linked to respondents and cannot be exported per person. Ask what an administrator sees in an export.

How many may leave

Eletive’s model can predict the share of employees at high, medium or low risk of leaving. A correlation model on how leaving employees answered surveys calculates it. An admin chooses attribute by attribute whether managers see the results. Eletive adds that “it is impossible to predict human behavior 100%”.

Leaving removes users, not results

When a user is deleted, that user’s data is permanently deleted. Historical data stays in group and organisation results after a user is deleted. An administrator can delete the 1 to 5 and eNPS answers of selected users in an open survey. Comments from those users are not deleted.

The AI supplier has changed

OpenAI was added to Eletive’s supplier list on 11 February 2025. AWS Bedrock was added for AI processing on 25 June 2026. OpenAI was removed on 11 August 2026. Ask how Eletive tells customers before a change.

Three plans, customised pricing and extras that add up

The plan sets the base price, and several costs come on top. Eletive customises pricing to team size, complexity and needs. Plans are user-based rather than usage-limited. The plan you need depends on the features you want.

Essential does not include lifecycle surveys or Snapshot Surveys. It does not include the whistleblowing channel or anonymous chat. It does not include advanced benchmarks, action plans, report export or comment export. Standard and Professional include all of these. Professional alone has Comments AI, Attrition Risk, smart suggested actions and action impact analysis. It alone has the Export API, supportive chat, multiple and extensive benchmarks and phone support.

Eletive’s blog puts the plan line differently in one place. Its post on Lattice and 15Five places lifecycle surveys, the AI Writing Assistant and the Export API under Professional. Its pricing table puts lifecycle surveys in Standard and Professional. It puts the AI Writing Assistant in all three plans. Ask for the plan line in writing.

HR system connections are the first extra. HR system integrations are add-ons, as are SCIM 2.0 (a standard for syncing users) and the Microsoft Azure Enterprise App. Its blog post on 15Five and Culture Amp puts it differently. Integration access is included across all plans. The HR system vendor may charge for enabling a connection, and Eletive does not cover it. Syncing also needs another company, called a sub-processor, to handle personal data. The customer must accept it.

More AI use can cost extra. Eletive calls its shared AI allowance “AI Credits”. The AI Writing Assistant, Tailored advice and Copilot draw on the same pool. Comments AI uses none. Every customer gets a free pool each contract year, and more can be bought in the platform. Use depends on timespan, number of groups and survey frequency. Take a 100-user organisation with 7 years of data and pulses every two weeks. A deep driver analysis since the account started uses about 4,000 “AI Credits”. Admins set a monthly limit per role and per user.

Eletive gives two answers on SMS. Its pricing table includes SMS notifications in all three plans. Its SMS page puts it differently. SMS is not an add-on, but it must be activated and the organisation buys “SMS credits”. SMS notifications were introduced on 15 July 2026 and are activated through the customer success manager.

Help from Eletive is counted in hours. Essential customers get up to 3 hours of personal onboarding support. Standard and Professional customers get 10 hours for 500 to 1,499 users and 15 hours for 1,500 to 4,999. Usage guidance hours each year depend on the number of users in the Order Form. For a renewal term, they depend on the renewal invoice. Extra hours cost EUR 120 for every started hour. Silver and Gold service packages can be added to a plan.

Eletive will use reasonable efforts to keep uptime at 99.9% in each calendar month. Response time for an Emergency incident is 1 business hour. Business hours are 8:00 to 17:00 CET. If a customer causes an incident, Eletive may charge a minimum of EUR 1000 plus EUR 150 per started hour.

Taking your data out is simple for reports. Reports export to PowerPoint, Excel or PDF with one click. Managers can export comments to CSV, the heatmap to CSV and group reports to PowerPoint in the interface. A heatmap is a colour grid of scores by group. Customers add user licences in Settings. The initial term, the notice date and the renewal price are questions for the order form.

You could also run survey steps with agents built on your own systems. We have mapped what that looks like. The HR Agent Map

Nine questions to put to Eletive before signing

  1. Which plan holds each feature we need, and what is the price per user for it? Good answer: A written plan line for every feature, and a price per user.
  2. What is the initial term, the date for giving notice and the price at renewal? Good answer: All three written into the order form.
  3. How large is the free AI pool each contract year, and what does more cost? Good answer: A number for the pool and a price for more.
  4. What does an administrator see when the Export API extracts individual answers? Good answer: Answers that cannot be traced to a name, with the group setting explained.
  5. Which smallest group will each survey type use, and can we tell staff the number? Good answer: One written number for each survey type.
  6. How will we hear before the AI supplier changes again? Good answer: Written notice before any change, and the right to switch AI features off.
  7. Are SMS messages included in our plan, and who pays for them? Good answer: A written line on how many are included and what extra ones cost.
  8. Is the connection to our HR system included in the plan, and how often does it sync? Good answer: A written yes or no, a sync time and any charge from the HR system vendor.
  9. Which customer with a works council can we speak to about the rollout? Good answer: A named customer, and what its council asked for.

Alternatives to Eletive, including buying nothing

If Eletive does not fit, Confirm and WTW each answer one place where it stops. Buying nothing is a third route.

Some buyers want to ask new joiners at set points after they start. Eletive’s lifecycle surveys cover onboarding and exit. Confirm’s lifecycle surveys include new-hire check-ins at 30, 60 and 90 days. Confirm’s lifecycle survey responses are not anonymous. Authorised owners and administrators can review individual answers. Eletive sets a default smallest group of 3 for lifecycle surveys. Confirm suits named check-ins at set points. Eletive suits lifecycle answers kept in groups.

Eletive’s Comments AI analyses in English and translates other languages first. WTW’s Text Analytics analyses discrete parts of each comment separately in over 80 languages. That claim dates from August 2023, so ask WTW to confirm it for your languages today.

If your HR system already runs surveys, read our guide for HR system owners.

Buying nothing means giving up two things Eletive supplies. If you use Eletive’s whistleblowing channel, you would need another. Only an appointed whistleblower auditor can read its comments, and the channel is in Standard and Professional. If you use supportive chat, which is in Professional, you would need another way. It lets managers talk anonymously with employees who scored low on sensitive questions. Our comparison of survey products sets the options side by side.
