Apriora
Apriora sells Alex, an AI assistant that scores resumes and interviews applicants by phone, video or text. It also checks who the applicant is and saves the results in your applicant tracking system. Its terms give Apriora wide rights over what you submit, so read them before you sign.
Alex screens and interviews every applicant so your recruiters start with a ranked shortlist
Alex screens every resume, interviews every applicant and checks identity. It hands your recruiters a ranked shortlist.
Hundreds of people apply for a role and your recruiters cannot speak to them all. You use one of the applicant tracking systems Alex connects to. Your team will set the rules for who moves forward.
You cannot accept the licence over submissions in Apriora’s terms. You need a contract that pays out when the service is down. Apriora’s standard terms accept no liability for downtime. You need a price you can read without asking for a quote.
Annual agreements start at $36,000. The final price depends on interview volume, the systems you connect and how complex the roll-out is.
What Alex does with each applicant
Alex scores each resume against the criteria your team sets for the role. Every score comes with a written reason. Your team picks how Alex acts on the score.
Alex then interviews the candidate by video, phone, text message or WhatsApp in 26 or more languages. It records, transcribes and scores every interview. It ignores names, gender and previous employers.
Three checks look for fake or dishonest candidates. Verify gives each application a fraud risk of low, medium or high. It reads signals such as a disposable email address or a connection that hides its location (a VPN). Proctor rates the chance that a candidate had help during the interview. Identity compares a government ID with a live selfie.
Talent Match scores past applicants already in your tracking system against a new role. It then contacts the best matches and books interviews. Alex does not collect profiles from sites such as LinkedIn or GitHub.
Alex connects to 33 or more applicant tracking systems, including Workday, iCIMS, Greenhouse and Lever. It saves scores, transcripts and recordings to the candidate’s record.
The Apriora page in the AI interview agents guide covers the interviews.
Bias audits, a Workday partnership and outside security checks
An outside firm audits Alex for bias every month
Warden AI, an independent firm that tests AI systems, tests Alex each month across 15 or more protected groups. Apriora publishes the results. The latest audit was on 11 September 2026. The audits are aligned to the EU AI Act and to New York City’s Local Law 144. That law requires a bias audit of hiring software.
Apriora is an official partner of Workday
Scorecards, transcripts and recordings from Alex sync back to the candidate profile in Workday in real time.
Outside auditors check security and AI governance
A SOC 2 security audit report is available under a non-disclosure agreement. An accredited auditor has also certified how Alex governs its AI, under a standard called ISO 42001.
Employers and recruitment firms use it when applicants outnumber recruiters
Mattress Firm gets about 125,000 applicants a year
A 16-person recruiting team could speak with roughly 9,000 of them. Alex now runs inside Workday and reaches applicants who pass an online assessment. The wait from application to first conversation fell from two weeks to under two days.
Completed interviews arrive scored and ranked
More than 500 people applied for one Tier4 Group role in 24 hours. The recruiter had a scored shortlist of the top five by the next morning. At Robertson & Company, completed interviews arrive scored and ranked. It has run close to 15,000 interviews across roughly 1,000 jobs.
Atrium Hospitality screens for senior hotel leadership roles
Atrium runs more than 70 US hotels. It gets about 10,000 applicants a month. Over about two and a half months its team held 161 first-round interviews. It made at least 15 hires for senior hotel leadership roles.
Yotpo kept Greenhouse and added a first round
Yotpo uses Alex as the first interview for every open North American sales and marketing role. Alex runs inside its Greenhouse process. Every candidate Yotpo hired through Alex in the last six months is still with the company and performing well.
The contract limits what Apriora owes you and what it can do with your data
The terms give Apriora wide rights over what you submit
The terms cover interview video, transcripts, resumes and contact details. Apriora gets a worldwide, permanent licence that it can never take back. It may use, copy, change, publish and pass on that material in any media. You keep ownership of your meeting content.
Apriora’s liability stops at six months of fees
The terms give no promise that the service works or stays up. Apriora accepts no liability for downtime or for hiring decisions. Its total liability is capped at what you paid in the previous six months.
Disputes go to private arbitration in New York
New York law governs the contract. Most disputes that talks cannot settle go to binding arbitration in New York City. Any claim must start within one year. Apriora hosts the service in the United States.
The New York City audit did not use real hiring data
Warden did not have access to past hiring data. It used real candidate profiles from its own data set, under controlled test conditions. The report is not a formal certification. Ask Apriora for audit results on applicants like yours.
An identity check does not check a career
Identity confirms a person is who they say they are. It does not cover employment history, education, criminal records or the right to work in a country. The terms make you solely responsible for your own checks, including background checks.
Apriora is young and is in a trademark case in a US court
Apriora Inc. trades as Alex and has raised $20M. The Jellyvision Lab filed a trademark infringement case against Apriora in a US court on 17 April 2026. Ask Apriora whether the outcome could affect the product.
What Alex costs, how long set-up takes and how you leave
Annual agreements start at $36,000. Enterprise pricing is custom and depends on interview volume, the systems you connect and how complex the roll-out is. Ask for a quote that shows what each part of the product costs.
The link to a tracking system connects in 24 to 48 hours. Enterprise integration set-up takes two to five days. The full roll-out takes two to four weeks.
All purchases are non-refundable. You can cancel a subscription at any time by logging in. Apriora keeps personal information for no more than six months after you close your account. It may keep some information to prevent fraud, investigate problems, enforce its terms or follow the law. You can ask for your meeting data to be deleted at any time.
You could also find and screen people with agents built on your own systems. We have mapped what that looks like. The HR Agent Map
Eight questions for Apriora
- Which settings let Alex reject a candidate or move them to a new stage? Who on our side can switch them on? Good answer: A written list of each setting, who may change it and a log of every change.
- Will you limit the licence over our submissions to delivering our service, including recordings you already hold? Good answer: Yes, in the order form, with deletion of anything used beyond that.
- Which of resume scoring, interviews, fraud checks, identity checks, past-applicant matching and scheduling does our price include? Good answer: A written list of each part of the product, with a price for each one.
- Will you raise the liability cap above six months of fees and put an uptime figure in our contract? Good answer: A higher cap and a written uptime figure on our own plan.
- Once Alex is connected to our tracking system, which fields and stages does it change? Can we test that in our own account first? Good answer: A named list of fields and stages, and a trial in a test account before we sign.
- What does a candidate get if they do not want an AI interview? Good answer: A named alternative that does not count against the candidate.
- Can we see the monthly Warden AI results for roles like ours, and the data behind them? Good answer: The full report, with figures for every group tested.
- How do our recordings, transcripts and scores come out in bulk when we leave, and when are they deleted? Good answer: A stated file format and a deletion date in the contract.
Alternatives to Apriora
If Apriora comes off your shortlist, look at HeyMilo, Humanly, Maki People or HireVue. If your tracking system already scores applicants, try that first. Buying nothing is also an option if your recruiters can speak to every applicant today.
HeyMilo screens and interviews applicants by voice, video, text message and forms in 20 or more languages. It scores resumes. An add-on can search candidates already in Bullhorn, Avionté or Tracker. Its credits pay for interviews, resume screens and text messages. Enterprise pricing questions go to the account manager.
Humanly is built for hourly, frontline and high-volume hiring. It has its own applicant tracking system, a talent database of more than 600 million profiles and an AI interviewer. Alex works from people already in your system or on a list you upload. Humanly also searches profiles it holds.
Maki People adds AI agents on top of your tracking system. Mochi screens by voice in more than 45 languages. Shiro sets skills tests from a library of more than 300 skills. Maki charges by the candidate interaction and quotes a price on request.
HireVue launched its AI Interviewer on 18 June 2026. It interviews every applicant by voice at any hour. Recruiters make the final call. HireVue sets fees from your headcount, uses and hires.
