Juicebox
Juicebox is a search tool for recruiters. A recruiter types the person they want in ordinary words. Juicebox scores the profiles each search returns against the recruiter’s criteria. Plans start free and are priced per recruiter. An AI assistant that sources every day costs extra. The legal duties for fair hiring sit with your company.
Juicebox finds people in plain words, and your company carries the legal duties
Juicebox helps recruiters find people who have not applied. It scores the profiles a search returns against criteria the recruiter writes. An optional AI assistant searches every day and can message people. Your company takes on the legal risk of every hiring decision.
You have recruiters who find people directly. You want a free trial that has no time limit. Your team can run its own bias audits and human review.
You want the supplier to share the legal risk of unfair hiring claims. You need a link to an applicant tracking system, single sign-on or network sourcing. You also want a published price or monthly billing. Those come only with Business, which is priced by quote and billed yearly.
Free costs nothing. Starter is $99 or $119 a seat a month and Growth is $179 or $199. Business is priced by quote and billed yearly. Each AI assistant adds $199 a month.
What a recruiter does in Juicebox, from first search to first message
Juicebox is an AI recruiting platform built around PeopleGPT. PeopleGPT is a search engine that takes ordinary words. A search can start in one of five ways. More than 80% start with a typed request. A search can also start from a job description in an applicant tracking system (ATS). Juicebox searches more than 800 million profiles from over 30 data sources. It evaluates up to 5,000 profiles to show the best matches for an open role. A first search takes 60 seconds to set up. Juicebox App, Inc. is based in San Francisco and has raised $116 million.
Each profile gets a score against criteria the recruiter writes in ordinary words. The recruiter can edit, add, remove and rank the criteria from most to least important. The table view shows candidates by overall match percentage. For each criterion the recruiter sees where in the profile the evidence comes from. Each profile carries a short AI summary of why the person matches. Filters narrow the results and criteria rank them. A tool called Likely to Switch gives six signs of how open a person may be to a new job.
Juicebox finds emails and phone numbers through partners such as ContactOut and RocketReach. A recruiter then builds a sequence, which is a series of messages with follow-ups. Email steps send on their own from the recruiter’s connected mailbox. LinkedIn and call steps become tasks, because Juicebox does not send the LinkedIn message or make the call. The sequence stops when a candidate replies. A person tagged Do not contact cannot be added to a sequence.
Juicebox calls its AI assistants Agents. An Agent searches on a daily schedule at about 9:00 am local time. It ranks new people while the recruiter is offline. It works best on roles that repeat or have high volume. The buyer chooses between two modes. With Manual approval a person approves each lead before anything is sent. With Automatic approval the Agent approves matching leads and carries out the chosen outreach or shortlist step. Juicebox advises starting on Manual until about 75% of candidates are approved. An Agent will not run until the recruiter has tuned its scores to the hiring team’s own judgement.
Juicebox connects to more than 50 ATS and candidate relationship management (CRM) systems. A CRM holds the people a team keeps in touch with. The link writes profiles into the ATS with contact details, company and job. It also reads a job description from the ATS. A feature called Talent Rediscovery searches people already in a company’s ATS by stage, job and tag. The ATS link is a one-time setup step. It is part of the Business plan.
The guide to AI sourcing and screening shows how the rest of the market handles the same steps.
Who gets value from it
A one-person recruiting team can still source at volume
Spreedly’s recruiter works as a team of one. Spreedly sees a reply rate of about 30% and has interviewed more than 150 sourced candidates. Juicebox highlights applicants in Lever who match a Juicebox search. Tavrn, a company of under 50 people, had its founder lead recruitment.
A fast-growing company can feed many roles
Starbridge grew from about 20 to about 60 employees in three to four months. Starbridge uses search, the link to an applicant tracking system and AI assistants. Binti hired 9 of its last 12 roles with Juicebox.
A talent team can check its own past candidates first
Fleetio’s sourcing volume rose 33% across its talent team after one year. Fleetio’s recruiting operations manager searches existing applicant data in Juicebox. That shows whether a good candidate is already in the process. At Render, Juicebox picks the best seven or so out of 900 applicants.
Hiring managers can review without sourcing
Hiring managers get read-only seats. They cannot source candidates. They can approve or reject candidates. These seats come with the Business plan.
Where it stops, from legal duties to old profiles
Your company pays if a claim says your hiring was unfair
Juicebox’s agreement makes your company cover claims about your hiring, staffing or HR decisions. That includes claims of discrimination. It also includes claims of disparate impact, which means a practice that treats a group unequally in effect. It covers claims that you skipped a required bias audit or human review. Juicebox gives no promise that its results are accurate or free of bias. Its own liability stops at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the problem.
You run the human review
You may not use Juicebox results as the only basis for an employment decision. A person must review them independently. The agreement makes your company solely responsible for human oversight, its own bias audits and candidate notices. You also cannot use the results to decide eligibility for employment under the US Fair Credit Reporting Act. That law covers reports about a person that are used in employment decisions.
The published bias audit is not a certification
The audit firm Warden AI tested Juicebox’s Autopilot scoring against New York City Local Law 144. That law requires a yearly bias audit of software that scores candidates. An impact ratio compares how often a group is picked with how often the most-picked group is picked. Warden’s impact ratios run from 0.98 to 1.00 for sex and for race or ethnicity. Its report is not a formal certification. Its findings do not predict results for any one employer or job. The law also requires candidate notice and a published audit summary, and the report does not cover those. New York City’s regulator says the law does not apply to outreach or to scanning a CV bank.
The search runs on profiles gathered from public sources
Juicebox collects profile data from public sources through data providers. It relies on legitimate interest as its legal basis. That is a basis in data protection law for using personal data without asking the person. Juicebox is a data broker under Texas law, and it appears in California’s data broker registry. A data broker collects and sells personal data about people it has no direct relationship with. A person can ask to be removed through the Privacy Center. In 2025 Juicebox received 37 deletion requests under California’s Delete Act. Its median time to fulfil a request was 8 days.
Profiles can be out of date
Profiles refresh anywhere from daily to monthly. A recruiter can report a profile as stale or fake. Juicebox then checks and updates it, in most cases within 24 hours. A Flagged badge marks suspicious profiles. Juicebox guarantees that 95% of verified emails sent inside Juicebox reach the inbox. It gives a credit on your account if it misses.
Juicebox warns that its AI can be wrong
AI features may contain errors. Juicebox finds it hard to fully explain how its language models reach a result. Juicebox’s AI is designed for the stage before a person applies. It makes no decisions about hiring or firing. Check the evidence for each criterion before you contact anyone.
The service promise is small
The agreement promises 99% availability each month. Weekends, holidays and scheduled maintenance do not count. The only remedy for downtime is a credit of 5% of fees for each period of 45 minutes or more. Credits stop at one week of fees in a month. They cannot be paid out as cash. Standard support is email on weekdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern time. The target is five business days to answer. Priority support has a 24-hour response time.
Your data goes to the United States
Data held by Juicebox’s cloud providers and AI model providers sits in the United States. Algolia, Amazon and Anthropic are subprocessors, which are companies Juicebox passes data to. The agreement lets Juicebox analyse usage data, including data with names removed, to improve its services.
What it costs, what renews and what happens when you leave
The Free plan costs $0 a seat. The free trial depends on usage and has no time limit. Paid plans come with monthly or yearly billing. Monthly billing costs more than yearly billing. All prices are in US dollars. Five seats on Growth cost between $895 and $995 a month, depending on which Growth price applies.
| Plan | Price | Contact lookups | Exports | Also on this plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $99 or $119 a seat a month | 500 contact lookups a month | 500 exports a seat a month | Up to 200 emails a day from each mailbox. |
| Growth | $179 or $199 a seat a month | 1,500 contact lookups a seat a month | 1,500 exports a seat a month | Up to 5 seats. Research Signals, which search research papers and abstracts in ordinary words. 3 mailboxes for each user. Up to 200 emails a day from each mailbox. |
| Business | Priced by quote, yearly billing only | Set by quote | 2,250 exports a seat a month | Research Signals. Link to an applicant tracking system, single sign-on, network sourcing, hiring-manager seats, 6 mailboxes for each user and help moving data. Up to 500 emails a day from each mailbox. Network sourcing finds people who may already know one of your employees. |
Juicebox calls its usage units “credits”. Finding an email costs 1 “contact credit” and a phone number costs 3. Adding a profile to a sequence uses one for each new contact. You are not charged twice for the same contact. Each exported profile uses one “export credit”. On Growth you cannot buy more of them, so you add seats. AI assistants cost $199 each a month. That price includes unlimited contact and email lookups. A paid Agent seat is needed to start daily sourcing. Each sourcing, paused or action-needed Agent uses one seat.
A yearly plan grants the year’s allowance upfront. On monthly plans, unused allowance does not roll over. Choosing yearly billing by mistake charges the full annual amount. Removing a seat gives no refund for the part of the period that is left.
Paid subscriptions renew on their own unless you cancel. The agreement renews for terms of the first length unless one side gives 30 days’ notice. Juicebox can change fees at the end of a term. It must give 30 days’ notice and may send that notice by email. Late invoices carry a charge of 1.5% a month. You must dispute a wrong bill within 60 days. A cancellation takes effect at the next renewal date and gives no refund for the current period. A paused subscription is still charged when the pause ends. The agreement follows California law. Each seat can be used by one person only. Juicebox may use your company’s name and logo in its marketing.
When the agreement ends, Juicebox makes your data available for 30 days and may delete it afterwards. Deleting an account permanently deletes all searches, shortlisted contacts and profile data. You can export profiles as CSV (spreadsheet) or PDF files. You can also export them into an ATS or CRM. Contact details are optional. A list of past exports is kept. The Business plan includes full help moving data. An extra fee applies to some moves.
You could also find and screen people with agents built on your own systems. We have mapped what that looks like. The HR Agent Map
Eight questions to ask before you sign
- Starter and Growth each have two prices. Which one applies to our seats, how big is the yearly discount, and what is the total in writing? Good answer: One price for each seat on the order form, and a total for the year.
- Will you narrow the clause that makes us pay claims about our hiring decisions, including disparate impact? Good answer: A cap on that cost or a shared-risk clause in the signed contract.
- Can we have the full bias audit for roles like ours, and wording for the candidate notice? Good answer: A report on our kind of roles and notice text we can use as written.
- Which AI providers receive our candidate data, and what do they receive? Good answer: A named list of providers and a contract line on what is sent.
- Does data about how we use Juicebox, including data with names removed, ever train your models? Good answer: A written exclusion in the order form.
- When we leave, how long do we have to collect our data, and do exports cost anything? Good answer: More than 30 days, a stated file format and no charge per exported profile.
- Can switching on Automatic approval be limited to admins, and is every change recorded? Good answer: Yes to both, in the settings or the order form.
- What uptime and support response will you write into our order form? Good answer: Uptime above 99%, a reply faster than five business days and a remedy beyond a small credit.
Alternatives to Juicebox
Pin, SeekOut and Gem are the alternatives, along with buying nothing.
Pin’s AI recruiting agent works on its own across sourcing, screening, messaging and interview booking. It searches more than 850 million profiles. It works alongside the applicant tracking system. Premium ATS links are paid add-ons. Solo costs $99 a user a month on yearly billing. Professional costs $135 or $179. The Business plan is priced by quote.
SeekOut searches nearly a billion public profiles and your own ATS. Its self-serve plan, Sourcing Core, costs $149 a month paid yearly or $179 paid monthly. It comes with a 14-day free trial with no card. Higher plans are priced by quote and invoiced yearly in advance. Those fees cannot be cancelled. SeekOut’s AI screening costs about $2 for each completed interview.
Gem’s AI sourcing agent searches more than 800 million profiles and past candidates in its ATS and CRM. Its application review scores and ranks every applicant with a plain-words reason. In application review, a recruiter makes every advance or reject decision. The sourcing agent and application review are both paid add-ons. AI features unlock with an AI-powered seat. Gem prices by the number of employees and also sells its own ATS. Companies under 30 employees get its all-in-one product free for six months.
Buying nothing avoids a new contract with these terms. Candidates are then found without a sourcing tool.
