BrassRing

BrassRing suits employers that hire in volume and want hiring, new-hire paperwork and candidate outreach from one supplier. Signal Labs bought it in mid-2026, and the price is not public. Part of the AI is still to come, and the legal duty for that AI stays with you. Settle the price, the contract and the AI before you sign.

BrassRing suits big hiring teams, and you must ask for the price

In one line

BrassRing is a hiring system for mid-sized and large employers. Signal Labs now owns it, and you have to ask for the price.

Buy it if

You hire in volume, across many places or many countries. You want hiring, new-hire paperwork and keeping in touch with candidates from one supplier. You will ask for a quote and test the AI before you rely on it. You will ask for an independent bias audit before you switch on its AI scoring.

Do not buy it if

You need a price in writing before any call. You need FedRAMP today.

Price

BrassRing publishes no price. Pricing is one of the choices on its contact form. It offers a free 30-day trial.

What you get from BrassRing is three products, many connections and some AI

Before you compare prices, it helps to know what you are buying. BrassRing sells three products. The first is the applicant tracking system, which records every applicant and every step of hiring. The second is Onboard, which handles the paperwork for new hires. The third is Lead Manager, which keeps in touch with people who may apply later. Lead Manager reaches them by email, SMS and social platforms.

Onboard includes I-9 and E-Verify at no additional cost. These are United States forms and checks of a new hire’s right to work. Onboard also sends new-hire data to your HR system and to payroll.

Day to day, the tracking system is where the time savings should come from. Candidates get a mobile-first experience from application to offer, with digital signing. BrassRing sends automated emails when an applicant’s status changes. Its Interview Manager connects to Microsoft Teams and Outlook. A tool called Rules Automation Manager runs your own rules across the hiring process, including data comparisons and status updates. Users can also trigger a background check, a drug screen or a video interview by updating a candidate’s HR Status.

Reporting tells you how hiring is going. The Data Insight Tool builds reports on demand, and the dashboards cover pipeline performance, diversity metrics and team productivity. Hiring managers work in their own screen, called eLink, which BrassRing calls patented.

Hiring rarely stays inside one system, so the connections matter. BrassRing has more than 60 integration partners. HireRight is integrated with BrassRing, so your team can order its background screening from inside BrassRing. That means they do not switch systems to run a check. First Advantage offers a pre-built background screening integration. Verified First connects through a browser extension. HireUp is a partner for employee referrals. JobTarget connects BrassRing to over 25,000 job sites, which matters if you advertise roles widely.

For data protection, BrassRing runs on a Microsoft Azure-based cloud with full GDPR compliance.

The AI deserves a slower look. BrassRing headlines automation and AI-powered decision-making on its Solutions page. Yet BrassRing does not use AI to make decisions for its customers, and people still make the decisions. The AI helps with CV review and supports personalised candidate engagement. It also helps build candidate profiles from CVs and data from across the web. BrassRing’s scoring models consider indicators of cultural fit and adaptability. Signal Labs has added an option to BrassRing called the attention layer. It flags candidates who resemble past hires who went on to lead. Matching people to past hires can carry old habits forward. So ask for bias testing before you switch any of it on.

BrassRing is open to integrating with any AI vendor you trust. Signal Labs also runs its own software on top of BrassRing, called SignalOS. SignalOS reads talent outcomes from the BrassRing platform. So ask what it reads and what it does with your data. Signal Labs will not access customer data until agreements are in place. Those agreements are where the answer should be written down. Signal Labs tells customers that its capabilities are optional and not a forced migration.

The savings BrassRing advertises, and how to test them

Vendors advertise savings, and a Head of HR has to decide how much to believe. BrassRing advertises the five figures below. Each one is BrassRing’s own claim. Each needs your own numbers beside it before you lean on it in a business case.

6+ hours saved per week, per recruiter

For ten recruiters, that would be 60 hours or more every week, so the figure matters to a business case. Ask how many recruiters it covers, what they did before, and who measured the hours.

45% reduction in time to hire

A cut of that size would change how fast you fill roles. Time to hire depends on your roles and your starting point. So ask which customers and which period sit behind the figure.

50% less time spent on CV review

Half the time on CV review would be a large saving for a high-volume team. BrassRing places this figure under AI matching and scoring, and it calls part of its AI upcoming. So ask whether the matching it measured runs in your contract today.

A 42% reduction, placed beside recruiter time per role

BrassRing places a 42% reduction beside a line on teams that use automation and AI-assisted screening. Those teams report less recruiter time per role. Before you use the 42%, ask what it measures and what those teams did before.

A savings table built on 30 seconds and $30 an hour

BrassRing models the savings of Rules Automation Manager in a table. The model assumes 30 seconds saved per action and $30 an hour. Your own figures will differ, so replace both with your numbers before you use the result.

What BrassRing does well

A hiring system earns its place by saving effort across the whole process. These are the points where BrassRing does that for a large employer.

It covers hiring, new-hire paperwork and keeping in touch

One supplier sells all three parts, which means one relationship to manage instead of three. Onboard includes I-9 and E-Verify at no additional cost, so a United States employer avoids a separate purchase. Onboard also supports over 20 languages, which matters if new hires work in other languages.

It connects to the checks and job boards you already use

A hiring system has to work with the tools around it. BrassRing has more than 60 integration partners. A supplier not on that list can still connect through a mapping tool, open APIs or a custom integration. Ask what a custom build would cost you.

Hiring managers can pick it up quickly

BrassRing reports that more than 90% of hiring managers use the system without extensive training. That matters because a hiring system only saves time if hiring managers actually use it. It is also mobile-ready for hiring teams and candidates, and candidates can sign their documents digitally.

Help is there at any hour

The Global Service Center is available to customers 24 hours a day, every day. That matters if you hire across time zones. It supports implementation and the ongoing adoption by your team.

Who uses BrassRing today, and who it is built for

Your own size and shape of hiring decide whether BrassRing fits. These are the kinds of employer that BrassRing and its customers point to.

Store networks that hire in volume

Vincent Vott of Dollar Tree talks about a high-volume, decentralised retail staffing model across two brands. Vott adds that Dollar Tree has used BrassRing across its enterprise for many years. If your hiring has that shape, ask to speak to a customer like Dollar Tree.

Global groups with one hiring process

Doug Fauth of MicroVention, a Terumo Group company, reports that the BrassRing system has helped streamline global talent acquisition. BrassRing works in 42 languages across 172 countries. If you hire in many countries, check that coverage in your own markets.

Schools, universities and non-profits

BrassRing sells a Talent Suite to school districts, universities and non-profits. It includes tools for continuous feedback, professional development and career pathing. So an education or non-profit buyer should ask which of those tools come with the hiring system. Also ask which cost extra.

Mid-sized businesses and large enterprises

BrassRing serves mid-market businesses and enterprises, and Signal Labs calls its customers large enterprises that staff at high volume. BrassRing asks for your company size on its contact form. The choices run from 250 to 500 staff up to 10,000 or more. A small team with few hires a year should check that BrassRing is the right size for it.

A new owner, AI that is still arriving and a legal duty that is yours

Anyone signing a multi-year hiring contract needs to know who stands behind it and what they are really buying. BrassRing has a new owner, so the company that signs your contract may not be the one you expect. Part of its AI has yet to arrive. So some features you see advertised may not be live on the day you sign. And BrassRing puts accountability for AI decisions with the employer, so you answer when a candidate challenges one. None of this rules BrassRing out. Each one is a question to settle before you sign.

Its own pages give different dates for the sale

BrassRing announced on 23 June 2026 that Signal Labs acquired it in June 2026. Its About page puts the sale in July 2026. Signal Labs expected the deal to close on or around 9 July 2026. The exact date matters less than who signs your contract, so ask which company signs and whose terms apply.

BrassRing has changed hands twice since 2021

In October 2021 Infinite Computer Solutions announced it had completed buying IBM’s Talent Acquisition Suite. That suite held Lead Manager, BrassRing on Cloud and Onboard. Signal Labs now owns it, and each change of owner can bring new terms and new priorities. Signal Labs announced its market entry on 15 April 2026 and is backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Its $25M in early total contract value is a sales figure and not funding. It tells you little about how much money stands behind the company.

Part of the AI is still to come

BrassRing calls its AI enhancements upcoming. On 23 June 2026 it announced that AI-powered talent matching is among the capabilities it will deliver. Signal Labs tells customers they can add capabilities over time, including predictive analytics from historical hiring data. So some of what BrassRing advertises may not run in your contract yet. Ask which features run today.

The legal duty for the AI stays with you

BrassRing puts accountability for AI decisions with the employer. That is you. Ask what testing the vendor has done, because you answer to candidates and regulators for the result.

FedRAMP is on the roadmap

FedRAMP is the US government’s security standard for cloud services. Signal Labs’ roadmap includes security and compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP. If your contracts or your regulator need FedRAMP, ask for a firm date before you sign.

The AI also brings legal duties to you as the employer. New York City’s Local Law 144 covers tools whose score or recommendation substantially helps or replaces a hiring decision. It is unlawful to use such a tool to screen a candidate without a bias audit in the past year. A summary of the audit must also be public on the employer’s website. The vendor that built the tool is not responsible for that audit under the city’s guidance. If you screen candidates in New York City with BrassRing’s scoring, this law may apply to you.

The EU AI Act includes AI used to analyse and filter applications and to evaluate candidates among its high-risk uses. An exemption in Article 6(3) can apply, but it does not apply where the system profiles people. The rules for these systems apply from 2 December 2027.

What BrassRing costs and what happens when you leave

Cost is the first thing most buyers want to know, and BrassRing does not publish it. Pricing is one of the choices on its contact form. You will not get a figure until you talk to the sales team.

BrassRing offers a free 30-day trial. Use it to test your own requisitions, your own approval steps and your own connections before you agree a price.

The sale to Signal Labs makes the contract terms important. Signal Labs tells customers that existing contracts, pricing and terms continue. If you are buying now, ask for the same promise in writing for your own contract.

Leaving needs its own questions. BrassRing’s privacy policy keeps data for as long as the purpose and the law require. It sets no fixed period. It also keeps anonymous information after a deletion request. Signal Labs does not cover data collected through its products or services in its website privacy policy. Signal Labs will not access customer data until agreements are in place. So the agreement you sign is where your candidates’ data protections should be written down. Ask which privacy terms cover that data.

You could also run hiring steps with agents built on your own systems. We have mapped what that looks like. The HR Agent Map

Eight questions to put to BrassRing before you sign

Before you sign, a few things must be settled. They are the price, which AI runs today, which company holds the contract and your data, bias testing and FedRAMP. The questions below cover each one. Every question comes with the answer you want to hear.

  1. Which of the AI features on your Solutions page run in my contract today, and which are still to come? A good answer is a dated list for each feature, in the contract.
  2. What will I pay for my number of employees, recruiters and hires in each of the first three years? A good answer is a written quote with unit prices and the rule for any extra volume.
  3. Which company signs my contract, and which terms and privacy policy cover my candidates’ data? A good answer is a named company, with terms and a privacy policy that cover BrassRing data in full.
  4. Has the scoring that looks at cultural fit, or flags people who resemble past hires, had an independent bias audit? A good answer is the full report, with figures for each group, in a form we can publish.
  5. If we must meet FedRAMP, what date will you commit to? A good answer is a date in the contract and a right to leave if it is missed.
  6. Which of the new Signal Labs capabilities are optional, and does declining them change my price or my support? A good answer is written confirmation that declining changes neither.
  7. Which of our systems connect today, and which need a custom build? A good answer is a named list of working connections, with the cost of any custom build.
  8. How long do you keep our candidates’ data after we leave, and what stays after a deletion request? A good answer is a fixed period in the contract and a clear definition of the anonymous data you keep.

Alternatives to BrassRing

Someone weighing BrassRing may want a published price, fixed contract terms, scale or a tool built for volume hiring. Four products are worth a look for those reasons. They are iCIMS, SmartRecruiters, Oracle Recruiting and Paradox.

Oracle Recruiting is the one with a published price. Fusion Recruiting costs $8.00 a month per Hosted Employee, with a minimum of 500. The price is in US dollars, from Oracle’s global price list of 8 October 2026. Organisations can use Oracle Recruiting for high-volume or traditional hiring.

SmartRecruiters is the one to look at for fixed contract terms. Under its terms, the per-employee unit price in an order form is fixed for the term. It sends you to an expert for pricing, so you still have to ask. It drives enterprise hiring for highly skilled and high-volume roles. SAP acquired it in 2025, and its portfolio continues to be available standalone for the foreseeable future.

iCIMS is the one for scale. It reports more than 4,400 companies across 200 countries, with a quarter of the Fortune 500 among them. Its High Volume Hiring product syncs with iCIMS Hire to connect high-volume, frontline and corporate hiring.

Paradox is the one for hourly volume hiring. It serves frontline high-volume hourly roles and high-skilled professional roles. Its Hiring Goals turn jobs on and off automatically based on candidate volume. Paradox sends you to a demo booking for custom pricing.

If you already run BrassRing, staying put is a real option. Signal Labs tells customers that existing contracts, pricing and terms continue, and that its new capabilities are optional. If you are a new buyer, the free 30-day trial lets you test BrassRing before you choose. For a wider view of how these products differ, our guide to applicant tracking systems compares them all.

Sources and method Everything here about BrassRing comes from BrassRing’s and Signal Labs’ own websites and training documents. Details on the other products come from their own pages and price documents. The laws come from the texts of the laws themselves and the city guidance. What a vendor publishes about its own product is taken as a true description of that product. Where BrassRing’s pages give different dates for the sale to Signal Labs, both dates are given.
