WorkBuzz Engage
WorkBuzz Engage reaches staff by link, QR code or kiosk, including people without a work email. It hands each manager an action plan when a survey closes. Its prices come on request, and its own pages differ on contract length, AI data and HR system links. Settle those in writing before you sign.
WorkBuzz Engage reaches staff without email, but settle its terms first
WorkBuzz Engage is employee survey software. It reaches staff by link, QR code or kiosk. Every manager gets an action plan when a survey closes.
You survey people who have no work email. You want each manager to get an action plan. You will settle price and terms before signing.
You need one price for Engage or Engage+ before a call. You need the first term settled, since its documents give 12 months and two years. You need to read comments in their original language.
Prices for Engage and Engage+ come on request. In a 2024 G-Cloud contract template, the basic platform cost is £5,999 for the first 100 employees. That example is based on WorkBuzz Premium.
How a WorkBuzz survey runs, from invitation to action plan
A WorkBuzz survey starts with the questions. WorkBuzz’s People Science team works with you from a discovery session through leadership discussions. Pulse surveys use a People Science question library, your own questions, or both. Every question can be edited. Surveys run in 54 languages on one page and 41 on another, and you choose a maximum of six.
Staff open a survey with a QR code, a personal link or a kiosk. No login is needed. Surveys also work on any device. Employees without email can use a Kiosk code. WorkBuzz may use FireText to send survey links by text message. For large numbers of paper surveys it works with bakergoodchild.
Engage covers annual, pulse and ad hoc surveys. It also covers onboarding and exit surveys, which WorkBuzz calls lifecycle surveys. Annual, pulse and on-demand surveys are unlimited. Onboarding surveys can be scheduled at milestones you set.
Results appear as percentage scores merged by group. No individual employee’s answers are visible. Admins have full access, managers see custom dashboards only, and employees see the survey only. Baseline and pulse results are available only after the survey closes. Headlines gives managers a concise snapshot of their team’s feedback.
When a survey closes, ACT builds a prioritised action plan for every manager. ACT combines AI and People Science to suggest actions from each team’s results. The manager decides. Benchmarks compare at sector level and organisation size.
Engage and Engage+ are the two plans. Engage+ adds People Science AI at executive and department level, with comments analysis. It also adds Perspectives and no-code HR system integration. Its pages differ on both, and the limits section gives the details. People Science AI finds themes, sentiment and patterns in open-text feedback. It creates executive and departmental summaries and gives managers priorities and recommendations.
WorkBuzz also sells Dialogue. In Dialogue, a leader asks 20 to 20,000 colleagues one question and gets video, voice or text answers. Contributions go only to the person who created the question. Dialogue is priced as a subscription plus usage, so the rest of this review covers Engage.
Our guide to employee engagement software covers how the rest of this market handles the same questions.
Reach, follow-up and support come with the platform
Staff without email can answer
A QR code, link or kiosk gets people into a survey with no login. Employees without email can use a Kiosk code. WorkBuzz may use FireText to send survey links by text message. For large numbers of paper surveys it works with bakergoodchild.
Every manager leaves with an action plan
ACT builds a prioritised plan for each manager as a survey closes. Managers can adapt and build on the plan. The manager decides which actions to take. Plan completion is tracked alongside engagement scores, and HR can see progress.
Support is part of the platform fee
The fee covers 15 hours with a Client Success Manager. It also covers a strategy workshop and two training sessions for Power Users. Those terms come from a 2024 G-Cloud contract template. Setup typically takes 4 to 6 weeks.
Benchmarks by sector and organisation size
WorkBuzz updates them annually. Agenda Consulting, bought in October 2024, adds global benchmarking data for not-for-profit organisations. Agenda continues as a distinct brand.
Customers report high response rates
Butlins reports a 78% response rate across a 4000-person employee base. VolkerWessels UK reports a record 79% response rate.
It suits workforces where many people have no work email
Mostly deskless staff, many with another first language
ISS has over 1000 employees across three UK sites. Of those, 85% are deskless and about 80% do not have English as a first language. WorkBuzz is designed for workforces where many have no company email address. ISS uses it to reach that dispersed workforce. Comments in other languages reach you in English only, so ask how that works for those staff.
A network of branches
LKQ Euro Car Parts has over 9,000 employees across over 280 branches. Its response rate rose from 81% to 88%. The share proud to work there rose from 69% to 76%. If your people sit in many small sites, these are WorkBuzz’s own customer figures for that case.
Employers of 200 to 9,000 staff use it
Its FAQ gives 500 or more employees as the size it supports. Purley Park Trust has a team of 200 staff. Plan International has a global workforce of over 9,000. Ask whether your headcount is a size WorkBuzz serves well.
Public buyers can check who bought it
WorkBuzz is a G-Cloud 14 supplier. HS2 Ltd awarded it £159,570 for 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2026. National Highways awarded a call-off from a framework for 3 December 2025 to 3 December 2031. Its total value is £360,000. The same notice gives a value range of £240,000 to £360,000. The Riverside Group awarded £150,000 for 27 September 2024 to 29 September 2027. Public bodies have signed WorkBuzz for several years at a time, so ask what term your order sets.
Where WorkBuzz Engage stops, and where its own pages disagree
Comments appear in English only
Multi-language comments are translated into English when submitted. They appear in English only. The lifecycle surveys dashboard is currently available in English only, in the 2024 contract template. Ask whether you can read the original comment.
Its pages give 54 languages and 41
The plan comparison gives surveys and dashboards in 54 languages. You choose a maximum of six. Its FAQ also gives 54. The 2024 G-Cloud pricing document gives 41, again with a maximum of six. Ask which number your contract holds.
The smallest group is five, or ten for comments
Groups need five invited members or five responses. Its FAQ gives 5 or more responses for results and 10 or more for comments. The five minimum can be raised. A Variable Confidentiality setting, set per company, blocks filtering by a demographic when small groups fall under it.
WorkBuzz may reveal who wrote a comment
That may happen for threats, abuse, crime, safeguarding or health and safety concerns. WorkBuzz may review comments to decide. Respondents are told to avoid identifying details. Comments are removed only in exceptional circumstances.
Onboarding and exit answers are not anonymous
They go to the HR team. A company may ask for consent to send them to the line manager. Without consent they stay with HR. In the 2024 G-Cloud contract template, individual responses can be viewed for onboarding and exit surveys.
Its pages differ on HR system links
Its pricing page marks no-code HR system links as coming soon. Its home page promises codeless links that keep employee data current, with no HR system named. Engage+ adds no-code HR system integration. Engage includes SFTP, a secure file transfer, and an Open API, which lets two systems swap data. Its lifecycle page has onboarding and exit surveys start automatically from HR system data. Its FAQ has them sent manually, with automation through the API. Ask which of your HR systems connect today, and what that costs.
AI data location has three answers
One page puts AI storage and processing in Ireland or London. It adds that data does not leave WorkBuzz’s infrastructure. Another page puts storage in the EEA but adds that data may be transferred and processed outside it. The privacy notice puts respondents’ personal data only in the UK and EEA for processing. Ask for the countries for your account.
AI training has two answers
In its FAQ, client data is never used to train the AI model. The model keeps no memory of client data. Its AI privacy page gives a second answer. WorkBuzz trains AI with anonymised and aggregated data, kept apart from live data. That page adds that client data is not added to any other large language model’s training data. It also notes that no other company that handles the data uses it for its own model training.
AI summaries can be switched off, not edited
WorkBuzz lets you disable them and hide them from the dashboard. You cannot yet ask People Science AI questions about a summary. WorkBuzz is considering it. WorkBuzz puts the summaries at least 90% accurate against a human summary. WorkBuzz is not offering trials of the AI analysis at this time. It arranges a demo with sample data. It accepts no responsibility for bias inherent in large language models.
Support hours are UK weekdays
Technical support runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm UK time. WorkBuzz commits to a support response within 24 hours in its 2024 G-Cloud listing. It also commits to 99.9% platform uptime, excluding planned maintenance. Ask what applies to staff or administrators who work outside UK hours.
Other companies handle some AI data
Some AI features use AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. They act as sub-processors, meaning other companies that handle the data. WorkBuzz partners with Anthropic for the Claude model. Personal data in open comments is removed with Amazon Comprehend before the language model. Ask which other companies handle your data.
Plan two setup details early
Demographics may not be changeable for a survey after it closes. WorkBuzz recommends that your IT team approve its survey domains and addresses.
WorkBuzz now also owns Hive, another product in this guide. A buyer weighing the two is weighing products from one owner. WorkBuzz announced on 13 October 2026 that it had acquired Hive. WorkBuzz Analytics Ltd is a UK company, incorporated in 2011. Two holders each have more than 25% but not more than 50% of the shares and voting rights. They are Yfm Private Equity Limited and Steven Frost. Companies House records a share allotment on 9 October 2026. It also records resolutions filed on 22 October 2026 on new shares and Articles of Association. Ask who holds the shares when you sign.
Prices come on request, and the first term may be one year or two
Prices for Engage and Engage+ come on request. WorkBuzz’s public 2024 government contract template is a guide to how a bill is built. It has a platform fee for the first 100 employees. Per-user fees fall as headcount grows. Fees rise yearly by the greater of 5% or UK CPI.
Pricing is an annual licence based on headcount. Setup, support and features are included. Discounts exist for long-term commitments or sector partnerships. On G-Cloud 14, WorkBuzz Employee Surveys costs £3,000 a licence a year, with an education discount and no free trial.
The 2024 contract template gives a worked example, based on WorkBuzz Premium. The basic platform cost is £5,999 and covers the first 100 employees. These are the annual fees per user.
| Users | Annual fee per user |
|---|---|
| 101 to 250 | £30.00 |
| 251 to 500 | £20.00 |
| 501 to 1000 | £17.00 |
| 1001 to 2500 | £10.00 |
| 2501 to 5000 | £9.00 |
| 5001 to 10000 | £5.00 |
The minimum annual fee in that template is £6,000 plus VAT. The example total includes a discount based on a two-year initial term. Renewal costs vary with the number of users at renewal. People Science services are priced separately, with the same 5% or CPI rise at renewal. Additional consulting days cost £1,200 plus VAT per day.
The platform subscription fee in that template includes Sentiment and Topics Analysis, pulse surveys and unlimited on-demand polls. Perspectives turns open-text feedback into a story told in the voice of a typical colleague. Engage+ includes it. Another page calls it an add-on or part of an Advanced package. Custom avatars are an upgrade, with costs on request.
The first term is where the documents disagree. WorkBuzz’s FAQ and its G-Cloud 14 listing both put the minimum at 12 months. In the 2024 contract template, the initial term runs to the second anniversary of the Services Start Date. After that, the contract renews automatically for twelve months at a time. Payment is due 30 days from invoice, billed annually in advance.
The client may end the contract on one month’s notice that expires at the end of a term. A client that ends it this way pays all charges to the end of the current term. Charges are invoiced upfront at the start of each term.
Before the contract ends, download what you need. Results are accessible on the platform until the contract is terminated. Reports download as Excel or PowerPoint in a way which does not undermine employees’ confidentiality. The G-Cloud 14 listing adds PDF for all data and reports.
At the client’s written direction, WorkBuzz deletes or returns client personal data on termination or expiry. Client personal data is stored for up to 12 months after the project finishes or the contract ends. That holds unless requested otherwise. For continuous pulse customers who cancel, all personal data is deleted within 90 days of the instruction. Daily backups are stored for up to 3 months.
You could also run survey steps with agents built on your own systems. We have mapped what that looks like. The HR Agent Map
Nine questions for the sales call
- Which plan does our quote cover, and how does the 2024 Premium example map to Engage and Engage+? Good answer: A named plan, a price for our headcount, every extra priced.
- Is our first term one year or two, and what does a renewal cost? Good answer: One term in the order form and a renewal cap in writing.
- Do the per-user fee bands apply to each user in a band, or to our whole count? Good answer: A worked example for our headcount, signed off by finance.
- In which countries are our AI data stored and processed, and which other companies handle it? Good answer: A list of countries and companies for our account.
- Can our data, even anonymised, train WorkBuzz’s AI, and can we switch that off? Good answer: No training use, or a written way to switch it off.
- Which of our HR systems connect today, and is that included in our plan? Good answer: A named list that works today, with the cost included.
- Can we read comments in their original language, and which languages can we choose? Good answer: Original comments beside the English, with our languages confirmed.
- Which smallest group applies to results and to comments in our account? Good answer: One figure for each, written into the order form.
- How do our results come out in bulk when the contract ends, and when is our data deleted? Good answer: A file format and a deletion date, written into the contract.
Alternatives to WorkBuzz, including buying nothing
These are products to look at where WorkBuzz Engage stops. Buying nothing is the other option. Empuls, Quantum Workplace, WorkTango and Workday Peakon each cover a different stop.
On HR system links, WorkBuzz’s own pages differ. Its pricing page marks no-code links as coming soon. Its home page promises codeless links that keep employee data current. Empuls has pre-built two-way integrations with Workday, BambooHR, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, Rippling, ADP, Darwinbox and Keka, among others. Ask both vendors which of your systems connect today.
WorkBuzz translates multi-language comments into English on submission, and they appear in English only. At Quantum Workplace, survey comments in any language appear with side-by-side translations. Non-English comments appear translated to English with the original viewable.
You cannot yet ask WorkBuzz’s People Science AI questions about a summary. WorkBuzz is considering it. WorkTango Coach lets users ask questions of survey data in plain language and surfaces themes.
WorkBuzz technical support runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm UK time. Workday Peakon offers support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by phone. Check each against the contract you are offered.
If your HR system already runs surveys, our guide for HR system owners covers that route.
Buying nothing avoids a first term that the contract template sets at two years. It also means giving up Kiosk codes, QR codes and paper surveys for staff without email. You would also give up an action plan built for each manager when a survey closes.
