AmazingHiring
AmazingHiring is a search engine for recruiters who hire technical people. It collects public profiles from more than 50 sources and sorts them by how well they fit an open role. A rating built from more than 20 criteria does the sorting. The price depends on the number of users, the features you use and other terms. For a price, you book a demo.
AmazingHiring finds technical people who have not applied, and quotes its price
AmazingHiring finds technical people who have not applied to you. It ranks them, shows their public contact details and sends them a series of messages. You cannot post jobs in it.
You hire software engineers or other technical people and want to reach people who have not applied to you. You want search, contact details and messages in one tool.
You want its ranking to decide who gets hired, because the terms forbid that. You want a price without booking a demo. You need every candidate in your system to have chosen to be there.
Each recruiter needs their own licence. Each user can open up to 1,000 contacts a month.
How AmazingHiring finds, ranks and contacts technical people
AmazingHiring builds a profile for each person from what they have made public online, mostly on social networks and work sites. Some data is licensed from third parties. People do not post CVs in it. The database holds 600 million profiles. Your own uploaded contacts and CVs stay private to your company.
A search starts with the skills the role needs. AmazingHiring sorts the results by a rating built from more than 20 criteria. Technical skills, the rating of the person’s employer and seniority count most. An extra feature, added to your plan through your account manager, tags people who are more likely to reply.
You save profiles into folders that hold comments, statuses and sharing. Hiring managers can open a shared folder and add comments.
Phone numbers and emails show only when public, with a source link. To message people, a user picks a sequence. A sequence is a series of messages with follow-ups, and it stops when the person replies. GPT, an AI model, can write three messages from your open role. You edit them before they go out. Messages leave from your Gmail or Outlook 365 account.
AmazingHiring connects to Workable, Lever, Teamtailor, SmartRecruiters, Greenhouse, Huntflow and Gem. A service called Merge links it to other applicant tracking systems. Through Merge, data syncs both ways. The first Merge sync takes about one to 24 hours.

What customers report about AmazingHiring
A recruiter founded AmazingHiring in 2013. More than 500 talent acquisition teams use it. Six customers give results in AmazingHiring’s case studies. AmazingHiring has also run two tests of its own.
Bolt’s seven recruiters hired more than 200 developers in a year
Bolt gets a response rate above 55% to its messages.
STRV had a 75% open rate and about 30% replies
STRV has around 200 people, and 120 of them are software developers. 75% of its messages were opened and about 30% were answered.
Mollie hired four senior engineers in two weeks
Mollie’s recruiters approached 100 passive candidates and hired four senior engineers from them within two weeks. They used the AI sourcing feature to find developers and to spend less time reading profiles.
ABBYY halved the time it spends finding contact details, and Talentful halved its sourcing time
ABBYY employs 1,300 professionals and subscribed in December 2016. Its time spent finding candidates’ contact details fell by half. Its average funnel is 100 to 120 candidates contacted, 40 to 60 answers and 10 to 15 interviews booked. Talentful is a recruitment company with 82 licences. Its sourcing time fell by half within six months.
Venchr makes 90% to 95% of its tech placements with the tool
Venchr is a team of nine people. Between 90% and 95% of its tech placements are made with the help of AmazingHiring.
AmazingHiring’s own tests of its AI features
In an early test, automated AI sourcing saved up to 45% of sourcing time. The comparison was with sourcing by hand. In an experiment with more than 4,000 candidates contacted, those tagged “More Likely to Respond” replied 80% of the time.
What the terms and the data sources mean for you
The terms forbid using it to decide who gets a job
The terms forbid using the service, or its profiles, to decide whether a person is eligible for employment. AmazingHiring gives no warranty that the data is accurate. It does not check whether the public sources are accurate. The terms require you to check the original source before you contact a candidate. Under the terms, AmazingHiring is not a consumer reporting agency under the US Fair Credit Reporting Act. That law covers background reports used in hiring decisions.
The people in the database did not apply to you
AmazingHiring builds profiles from what people have made public online. Candidates do not post CVs in the system. For data it collects for its own purposes, AmazingHiring acts as a data controller. That is the business that decides how personal data is used. In AmazingHiring’s view, your legal ground for using the data is “legitimate interest”. You must also send the notice required by Article 14 of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The notice tells the person where you found their data. It must reach them by your first message at the latest.
You cover AmazingHiring’s costs for privacy claims about your use
You repay AmazingHiring for claims that your use breaks a third party’s privacy rights or the law. Candidates can ask by email to have their public accounts removed from search results. They can also object through an online form. After an objection, AmazingHiring stops processing unless there is a legal ground to continue.
A filter guesses whether a candidate is male or female
AmazingHiring’s gender diversity filter uses machine learning to classify each candidate as male or female. A diversity filter also sorts people into six ethnic groups. They are Asian, Black, Hispanic, Indian, Middle Eastern and white. Which filters you get depends on your account’s data protection settings. AmazingHiring has also picked out senior female engineers in its database from their first names. Take legal advice before anyone switches these filters on.
AmazingHiring can change the fees and features
AmazingHiring may change the terms, including fees, at its sole discretion. It may change what the service does without notice. If a source platform stops sharing data, it may drop that source without a refund. It may suspend or end your access for a breach of the terms. If it suspends or ends your access for a breach, it keeps the fees for the unused service. It promises “commercially reasonable efforts” to keep the service running. It does not promise that the service will always be available or error free.
Your claims are limited in amount, place and time
AmazingHiring’s liability is capped at the greater of three months’ fees or US$10,000. The terms follow California law. Disputes go to the courts of San Francisco County. A claim must start within one year.
The price is a quote and the contract renews by itself
A licence is one account for one recruiter. Two people cannot share a login. Each extra licence also brings a discount, training, reporting and extra Data Enrichment “credits”, AmazingHiring’s prepaid usage units.
Talent Intelligence shows live charts of the talent pool you target, and it is an extra. Sequences need the Messaging feature in your plan. Data Enrichment matches a spreadsheet file of your candidates against AmazingHiring’s database. You ask your sales manager for it. The first 150 “credits” are free.
Contact details are for paying customers only. Each opened contact counts against the user’s limit of 1,000 a month. The Chrome extension gives 100 free profile views.
The Authorization Form sets the services, the fees, the number of paid users and the length of the term. A paid subscription renews by itself for a term of the same length unless you cancel before it starts. Cancel in Account Settings or by contacting AmazingHiring. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current term.
Paying customers get email support within 48 hours, Monday to Friday. AmazingHiring may offer a trial for a term set in the Authorization Form. It does not have to give support during a trial.
Workable and Teamtailor need an email address for every candidate you export. CVs cannot be exported to Teamtailor yet. Workable cannot update a profile after export. Exporting a folder opens any unopened contact details. Each one counts against the user’s monthly limit.
You can export candidates to a spreadsheet file with the fields you choose. When the contract ends, you lose access to your accounts. The reporting page also downloads as a spreadsheet file. If you suspend use and come back, AmazingHiring keeps your data for 12 months.
You could also find and screen people with agents built on your own systems. We have mapped what that looks like. The HR Agent Map
Eight questions to ask AmazingHiring
- What is the total price for our number of users, and which extras does it include? Good answer: One written price on the Authorization Form. It says whether Messaging, “More Likely to Respond” and Talent Intelligence are included.
- Will you fix our fees for the whole term, even though the terms let you change them? Good answer: Yes, in writing on the Authorization Form.
- What is the notice date for cancelling, and what does a renewal cost? Good answer: AmazingHiring sends a written reminder before the cancel date, and the renewal price is agreed before signing.
- What happens to our fees if you drop a source or change a feature we rely on? Good answer: A written notice period and a refund for the unused part of the term.
- What does it cost when a user opens more than 1,000 contacts in a month? Can the contract raise that limit? Good answer: A stated price for extra contacts, and a higher limit written into the contract.
- What is the standard wording of the GDPR notice, and who handles an objection that reaches AmazingHiring first? Good answer: Standard notice wording we can use, and a written process that both sides follow.
- Can you narrow the clause that makes us repay you for privacy claims? Good answer: A cap on the amount, and an exclusion for how AmazingHiring collects the profiles.
- Which fields reach our hiring system when we export, and which ones are lost? Good answer: A list of fields for our own system, including statuses, CVs and email addresses.
Alternatives to AmazingHiring
SeekOut, hireEZ, Juicebox and Gem are the alternatives. A fifth route is to search public sites yourself.
SeekOut searches nearly one billion public profiles. Its self-serve plan, Sourcing Core, costs $149 a month paid yearly or $179 a month paid monthly. It has a 14-day free trial with no credit card. Sourcing Core is built for small businesses and solo recruiters. Higher plans are custom priced.
hireEZ runs on top of a company’s applicant tracking system. Its EZ Agent runs each step of hiring through assistants that you direct. Every candidate gets a screening conversation by voice or chat, and you decide who moves forward. A plan for solo recruiters starts at $494 a month with a seven-day free trial.
Juicebox is built around a search engine where you type your request in ordinary words. It has a free plan. Starter costs $99 a seat a month billed yearly, or $119 billed monthly. Growth costs $179 billed yearly, or $199 billed monthly. An AI assistant that sources every day is an add-on at $199 a month for each assistant.
Gem’s AI Sourcing Agent searches more than 800 million public profiles and your past candidates in Gem. The AI features need an AI-Powered seat. Gem prices by your headcount. A company with fewer than 30 employees gets Gem All-in-One free for six months. A company with 30 to 100 employees gets reduced rates from the start without a sales call.
