Profit.co can build reviews from goal results and check-ins, and prices by proposal

Profit.co Performance Management can pull goals, check-ins and feedback into a review. Goal results and task data go in when the template switches them on. Its AI drafts self-assessments and manager reviews for people to edit. Profit.co sets the price from the products you pick and your number of users. The contract is invoiced yearly in advance.

Should you buy Profit.co Performance Management?

In one line

A Profit.co review can draw on goals, check-ins and feedback. It adds goal results and task data once the template switches them on. Profit Apps Inc sells it beside software for objectives and key results (OKRs), surveys, recognition and projects.

Buy it if

You want each review to start from goal results and check-in history. You want AI to draft review text that a manager reviews and sends. You want a 30-day free trial with no payment card.

Do not buy it if

You expect to cut users or move to a shorter term at renewal. You need the discount from your current term to carry over. Profit.co voids the prior term’s discount if you reduce users, downgrade, remove add-ons or agree to a shorter term.

Price

Profit.co prices by proposal, based on the products you pick and your number of users. On AWS Marketplace, Performance Management costs $180 per user for a 12-month contract.

How a Profit.co review round works

Profit.co runs annual, semi-annual, quarterly, monthly and project-based review rounds. It also runs probation reviews, promotion calibrations and ad hoc reviews, which are reviews held outside the main round. An HR user closes each review once the manager and the employee have finished it.

A review template can hold rating scales, open-text questions, sections linked to goals and competency frameworks. Competencies are the abilities and habits a role calls for. Templates can differ by department, level or type of round. A review can ask for views from the employee, peers and the manager. It can also ask a matrix manager, who is a second manager, and an external reviewer.

Results for objectives and key results flow into a person’s review when the template switches this on. Task completion records flow in the same way. Goals are set for each person and line up with team and company OKRs. One-to-one meetings run as check-ins with a shared agenda and action items. Profit.co sends an email recap when a meeting closes.

The overall rating can be weighted by type of assessment. The software then works out the final rating from the percentages you assign. A custom formula can also work out the final rating from up to five past reviews. Each review has its own weight.

HR holds a rating review meeting, called calibration, before final ratings lock. HR looks at the spread of ratings and flags statistical outliers. A bell curve chart plots the target spread, the overall score and the calibrated score together. Members of a calibration group can adjust manager ratings after submission. Every change is captured in the review record. Calibration also covers employee acknowledgment and HR sign-off, and keeps an audit trail on final ratings.

Profit.co also runs 360 feedback, which collects views from peers, managers and external reviewers. A nine-box grid plots people by performance and potential for succession planning. Performance improvement plans create structured support for people who need it. The Incentive Workbench links performance ratings to merit and bonus decisions. Reviewers can attach audio or video comments.

Profit.co’s AI assistants draft review text and goals. The Self-Assessment Agent drafts an employee’s self-assessment from their OKR results, goal completion rates and check-in history. The manager assessment assistant drafts the manager’s review, and the manager reviews and sends it. The HR Review Agent combines self and manager reviews and gives HR summaries. The Goals Authoring Agent drafts goals and key results from a short description of a business objective. A Feedback Agent gives feedback people can act on, and a Write with AI button sits in the comment box.

For OpenAI, the administrator switches the AI on under Settings and enables OpenAI on the Services tab. Then the administrator enters an API key. An API key is a password that lets one program talk to another. The OpenAI connection generates summaries of self-assessments, and so does the Claude connection. The Gemini and Azure AI connections generate summaries of self-assessments and manager assessments. Users can also manage OKRs, check-ins and tasks from ChatGPT and Claude through Profit.co’s own connection for AI tools. People see only the data they are allowed to access.

Profit.co links to more than 100 tools, including Slack, Teams, Google Workspace, BambooHR, Workday, Salesforce and Jira. It imports employee details from BambooHR, Workday, ADP, HiBob, SAP SuccessFactors, Zoho People, Darwinbox and Dayforce. Workday users sync after 30 minutes and then daily at 9 PM local time. In Slack, people can check in, track status and comment. Meetings support Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams video.

To place Profit.co among the other review tools, read the guide to performance management software. Use the comparison to line the products up on price and terms.

What Profit.co customers report

Toyota Connected India has 500 to 5,000 employees. It reports that review turnaround time fell by 40%. A quote from the company puts goal-setting participation up from 60% to 80%. Rollout took about 45 to 60 days, in phases.

Open Government Products in Singapore uses Profit.co Performance Management as its performance management system. Scores from all questions rose by 15 to 20% under the new system, except the effort category. Ask Profit.co what those questions measure and who answered them.

Nuts.com has about 525 people on any given day, and about 120 of them use the OKR and performance systems. It signed with Profit.co in May 2023. Banyan Security’s Head of People and Culture reports that Profit.co has centralised all its data in one place. Before that, the company relied on Excel for performance evaluations.

Profit.co’s product page reports 1,500+ organisations as customers. The AWS Marketplace listing reports more than 2,000, including 50+ Fortune 500 companies. Ask which figure is current and how many of those customers use the performance product.

What Profit.co does well

Reviews start from goal results

OKR results and task completion records flow into a review when the template switches them on. Check-ins and feedback feed the same review.

You set the rating maths

The overall rating can be weighted by type of assessment. The software then calculates the final rating from the percentages you assign. A custom formula can also combine up to five past reviews.

Calibration leaves a record

Every change to a rating in calibration is captured in the review record. Final ratings carry an audit trail. Employee acknowledgment and HR sign-off are part of the process.

Managers control who sees final ratings

Review results are visible only to the people you specify. Managers control who sees final ratings and summaries.

You can choose where the data is stored

Profit.co’s primary data centres are in Iowa (USA), Belgium (EU), Abu Dhabi (UAE) and Dammam (Saudi Arabia). Customers pick the data centre at signup. The Enterprise plan includes data residency. Profit.co announced FedRAMP Ready status on 9 June 2025. FedRAMP is a US government security programme.

You can take your data and get help to leave

The customer owns all its data and can delete it on demand. On request, Profit.co provides termination assistance for up to 180 days after expiry or termination. Calibration ratings export to CSV or Excel. Analytics and reports export performance trends and rating distributions.

Who uses Profit.co

TechCrunch said most customers had at least 100 employees in 2023

TechCrunch reported in January 2023 that Profit.co had raised $11 million. It said most customers then had at least 100 employees.

Performance customers named range from under 500 to 5,000 people

Banyan Security has fewer than 500 people and uses OKR Software and Performance Management. Casepoint has 200 to 1,000 and uses the same two. Open Government Products has 200 to 1,000 and uses Performance Management. Toyota Connected India has 500 to 5,000. Intuitive Surgical, with more than 10,000 people, is a customer of OKR Software.

Teams that already set goals as OKRs

Profit.co sells OKR software that connects company objectives with team and individual work. The review product adds those results to a review when the template turns that on.

Companies that keep employee records in a separate HR system

Profit.co imports employee records from HR systems such as Workday, BambooHR and ADP. Profit.co says it is not a payroll or workforce administration platform.

Where Profit.co stops, and what the contract locks in

The limits sit mostly in the contract and in how the AI is set up. Profit.co’s own documents give different answers on uptime, set-up time and customer numbers.

Profit.co gives its uptime in several places

The uptime page gives a 99.9% guarantee. The terms commit to commercially reasonable efforts to keep the service available 99.9% of the time. The product FAQ gives 99.9%. The pricing FAQ gives 99.9% on every plan, and the Enterprise plan card also includes it. The product page menu reads 99.99%. Ask which promise your contract carries.

Missed uptime earns a fee reduction and can end the contract

Three to four hours offline in a calendar quarter earns 5% of one month’s fees. Profit.co takes it off other fees you owe. Beyond four hours offline, Profit.co takes off 10%. You may end the contract if Profit.co misses the uptime requirements in 3 months in a row. The same applies to 3 misses in a rolling 6 months.

A discount can end at renewal

Profit.co voids discounts and special pricing from the prior term in four cases. The four cases are fewer users, a lower plan, fewer add-ons or a shorter term. Profit.co may revise fees on renewal for product innovation, inflation and other market factors. Profit.co sends the renewal quote in writing at least 60 days before the term ends.

You pay yearly in advance

Profit.co invoices subscriptions annually in advance. After you cancel, the account stays active to the end of the annual billing period. Unused portions of the term carry no prorated refund. On AWS Marketplace, fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable except as required by law.

Disputes go to courts in Delaware

All disputes go exclusively to federal or state courts in Delaware. Profit Apps Inc is a Delaware corporation. Check this against any law that applies where your staff work.

Where your data goes when the AI runs

Profit.co processes AI inputs and outputs within providers such as OpenAI, Gemini, Azure and Claude. It does not use customer data to train public AI models. In a help-centre FAQ, Profit.co goes further. It says customer data is never used to train or fine-tune any AI model. It also says each customer’s data is isolated.

AI actions use credits

Actions by Athena, Profit.co’s AI, use credits from the plan’s allowance, pooled across the workspace. Review summaries are among those actions. The Essentials plan includes 500 credits per user per month. The free trial includes 250 credits once. Enterprise credits are custom. Extra credit packs are available on any plan at a price given on request.

Profit.co’s view is that people supply the judgement

Profit.co holds that its AI collects the data and managers still make the call. Coaching and career talks stay with people. It adds that vague manager notes give vague AI reviews. Athena warns in its chat window that AI can make mistakes and that users should check important information.

The nine-box average includes the self-score

An employee’s self-assessment score and the scores from others are averaged to decide where the person lands on the grid. Placement can be viewed and adjusted any time before the review is finalised. Decide who adjusts a placement before you start.

Three set-up times

Profit.co’s product page puts implementation at 30 days for most teams. Its AI information page puts it at 2 to 3 weeks until teams are live, with dedicated onboarding support. Toyota Connected India reports about 45 to 60 days, in phases. Ask for a dated plan for your own set-up.

What Profit.co costs

Profit.co quotes a price in each proposal. The one public figure is $180 per user for a 12-month contract on AWS Marketplace.

A team that buys OKR Software and Performance Management pays for both. At the AWS figure, 100 people on both cost $36,000 for 12 months. A proposal may differ, so ask for the total.

You could also run review steps with agents built on your own systems. We have mapped what that looks like. The HR Agent Map

Alternatives to Profit.co

Peoplebox, Betterworks, Lattice, PerformYard and Leapsome also sell review software that connects to goals.

Peoplebox costs $8 per employee per month for Performance Management, billed annually. Goals and OKR hierarchies are part of the product, and goal progress can appear inside the review form. Add-ons cost $3 for development plans, $2 for engagement, $8 for 360 feedback and $5 for compensation. Custom pricing is available through a demo.

Betterworks charges $8 per user each month for the Performance package. It also has Goals (OKRs). Implementation is a one-time cost on top, and Signature Support costs extra. Betterworks is aimed at mid-market and enterprise organisations.

Lattice charges $10 per seat each month for Performance. Goals and OKRs cost $8 per seat per month, and you can buy the two separately. The minimum annual agreement is $4,000. Implementation of the performance product carries no extra cost.

PerformYard charges $5 to $15 per person each month, billed annually. Goal progress appears inside annual review forms. It charges nothing extra for onboarding or training. Every plan includes links to HR systems and single sign-on.

Leapsome prices Performance Reviews at EUR 7 per employee per month in its price estimator. Goals and OKRs cost EUR 4. Leapsome includes the platform in every plan. Exact figures come in the quote.

If an HR system you already pay for runs reviews, test it against this list first. Spending nothing this year is also a choice.
