Quantum Workplace contracts start at $15,000 a year
Quantum Workplace runs review rounds, one-to-one meetings, feedback and goals in one place. It also sells engagement surveys, recognition and development tools. Its AI, called Cue, helps managers write and summarise reviews. The smallest contract is $15,000 a year. You also grant it a licence to use your data to improve its services.
Quantum Workplace in short
Quantum Workplace Performance Management runs review rounds, feedback, goals and one-to-one meetings. Contracts start at $15,000 a year, and you grant it a perpetual licence over your data.
You want reviews, one-to-one meetings, talent reviews and engagement surveys from one vendor. You want AI help for managers who write reviews, with an administrator who can switch parts off. You want no set-up fee.
Your budget is below $15,000 a year, the smallest contract. Or your legal team will not accept a perpetual licence over your data for improving the vendor’s services.
Packages start at $15,000 a year, which is also the minimum annual contract. The base price follows your total number of employees. Discounts depend on the number of users. There is no implementation fee.
How a review round runs, and where the AI helps
Reviews and ratings
A review round lets employees and their managers discuss performance. Quantum Workplace pairs reviews with one-to-one meetings, feedback and goals. Review rounds are available to organisations that have one-to-one meetings switched on. A round can require the employee to share a self-assessment before they see the manager’s feedback.
Automated rounds can start relative to an employee’s hire date or exit date. They can also start in the month of a hire anniversary. They can also repeat on a set schedule. Scaled questions usually offer three to six options. Descriptive Scoring swaps numeric ratings for text labels. Template-level weighting sets how much each section adds to the employee’s overall score. Templates can also hold goal ratings and competencies, which are the skills and behaviours a role expects.
An administrator can require approval before employees read the manager’s responses. The administrator must approve them, and upline managers must too if you choose. Multi-step approvals set several approvers in order. By default, the review participants, upline managers and full administrators can see a review. Who can see a manager’s private notes is covered under the contract and AI limits below.
Quantum Workplace points teams that need ratings for pay or promotion decisions to its Reviews. It also offers 360-degree, peer and upward feedback, and cascading goals. Cascading goals link each person’s goals to team and company goals. Administrators can set a date range for which goals appear in a review.
Talent Reviews are separate from review rounds. Managers answer a quarterly survey on current performance, growth potential and retention risk. Ratings can come from people other than the employee’s manager. Talent Reviews show multi-rater averages of performance scores. They also have a calibration mode with filters for calibration sessions, which are meetings where leaders compare ratings.
The AI
Quantum Workplace calls its AI features Cue. Cue runs on Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service, inside Quantum Workplace’s own Microsoft Azure setup. Data entered into the platform does not go to OpenAI’s separately run services. Every plan includes AI-assisted workflows.
The Writing Assistant helps people turn first thoughts into constructive answers to review questions. It aims to improve clarity, brevity and tone at each step. A user can regenerate the suggestion, replace their own words with it, and edit it before sharing. Quantum Workplace tells users to edit the suggestion before they continue.
A review round setting turns on the Answer Assistant. A participant sees a generated answer and decides whether to use it. On an Agenda question, the same button gives AI agenda suggestions. Ask AI writes answers from a person’s past activity, including goals. It suggests what to include in a review.
The Summary Assistant sums up a finished review and suggests ways to improve. A second round setting creates the summary automatically. Users can edit summaries, and each edit records who made it and when. Quantum Workplace tells users to treat a summary as a starting point.
Growth is an AI tool that helps employees build personal development plans. Insights Hub reads survey data. It also considers activity. That includes whether employees have had one-to-one meetings, reviews or talent reviews.
Systems and set-up
With a report-based connection, Quantum Workplace pulls a report from your HR system each night. You create the report in that system and give Quantum Workplace the credentials to read it. ADP Workforce Now connects through a data connector in the ADP marketplace. Paychex and UKG Pro connect self-serve. A flat file option has you push a spreadsheet file (CSV) to a secure file transfer site. Quantum Workplace processes it nightly.
Employees can act in the platform from Slack and get notices by Slack direct message. Customers can switch on notices in Microsoft Teams, including review tasks and reminders. There is a mobile app for iOS and Android, and the platform runs in more than 40 languages.
You can import up to one year of past reviews and one-to-one meeting data. For other vendors in this market, start with our guide to performance management software.
What the contract and policies promise you
The AI is optional
Under its master service agreement, every generative AI feature is optional. Users control it. Generative means the AI writes text. Users may reject, edit or ignore what it writes. An administrator switches Ask AI on or off for each review round. The product leader at Quantum Workplace calls the product AI-assisted, not AI-led.
Your data does not train the writing AI
Under its master service agreement, Quantum Workplace does not use your data to train generative AI models. Under its privacy policy, AI processing does not improve the Azure OpenAI models. It does not improve any third-party product either. Each AI request stays separate from other customers’ data. Under its AI policy, the AI tools do not store what they process on their own.
No material feature cuts in your term
Quantum Workplace must not make the services do materially less. That is the rule under the master service agreement, during the term.
It is SOC 2 certified and encrypts your data
SOC 2 is a standard security audit. Quantum Workplace encrypts customer data when stored and when sent. It uses logical separation to keep each customer’s data apart. It complies with the EU-U.S., UK Extension and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks. These let personal data move to the United States.
Companies that use it, in their own numbers
The customer stories range in size. Redwire has over 700 employees worldwide. Valet Living has 6,700.
Deltek, with over 3,000 employees
Deltek launched the one-to-one meetings tool. It supports talks between managers and employees.
Valet Living, with 6,700 employees
Valet Living began with the one-to-one meetings tool. It then added more of the suite, including Talent Reviews.
Hudl reports 99% completion in talent reviews
Hudl has more than 3,200 employees. The 99% covers its annual talent review process.
The contract terms and AI settings to check before you sign
Read the contract documents closely before your first call with a salesperson.
It gets a lasting licence over your data
Under the terms of service, you grant Quantum Workplace a perpetual licence. Perpetual means the licence has no end date. Quantum Workplace may use, share, store and change your data to run its services and to improve them. That includes aggregated data and de-identified data. De-identified data has its identifying details removed. Under the master service agreement, only de-identified data trains its non-generative machine learning models. Those are models that score or predict rather than write text.
You sign with Quantum Market Research, Inc.
Under the terms of service, your contract is with Quantum Market Research, Inc. That company is called Quantum Workplace in the terms. Under the master service agreement, the same company trades as Quantum Workplace. Under the terms of service, no fixed length applies. The contract starts on the order form date and runs until it ends under those terms. Under the master service agreement, the contract ends on its own once no statement of work is active.
Late payment costs 2% interest a week
Under the terms of service, fees are payable within 30 days of the invoice. That holds unless the order form provides otherwise. Under the master service agreement, interest on overdue amounts runs at 2% a week. If the law sets a lower maximum, that rate applies instead.
Liability stops at one year of fees
Each side’s liability is capped. The cap is the subscription fees paid in the 12 months before a claim. Delaware law governs the master service agreement. Legal proceedings go to the federal courts of the United States. The other option is the state courts in Omaha, Nebraska.
Either side can hand the agreement to a buyer
Assign means hand over to another company. Either party may assign the master service agreement. That applies in a merger, an acquisition or a sale of substantially all assets. Assignment needs no consent from the other side in those cases. Quantum Workplace announced an investment from the private equity firm LLR Partners in January 2022. Quantum Workplace bought TalentKeepers in 2023. It bought WorkDove in February 2025 and Assembly in January 2026. WorkDove is a performance management software provider. Assembly is a recognition and rewards platform. Ask who would hold your contract after a sale.
Ask AI is a beta feature
Ask AI is in beta. It writes answers to review questions from what a person has done in the platform. It uses one-to-one meetings, reviews, feedback, talent reviews, recognition and goals. A full administrator can switch it on or off when setting up a new or running review round.
Two help articles disagree on private notes
One help article, on Employee Snapshot, says only the writer can see a manager’s private notes. The Ask AI help article says participants can browse a colleague’s Private Notes through the Employee Snapshot menu. Ask which is right before managers write notes.
Review ratings show up in the leaving-risk tool
Retention Radar is another Quantum Workplace product. Its Flight Risk model predicts which employee groups are most likely to leave. Performance Review ratings are available in Retention Radar. Talent Review data feeds it. It spots top talent at risk of leaving. Decide who sees those results before ratings flow in.
Quantum Workplace tests its own AI
Quantum Workplace tests and evaluates its AI itself. It does not use outside testing processes. A team from across the company oversees AI risks and regularly checks the AI features. Quantum Workplace covers fairness and possible bias in its AI policy.
What it costs and how you get your data back
Packages start at $15,000 a year. That is the minimum annual contract, about $1,250 a month spread over the year. The base price follows your total number of employees, and discounts depend on the number of users. Quantum Workplace sells Engagement, Performance, Development and Recognition separately or together.
Quantum Workplace charges no implementation fee. A Customer Implementation Manager supports each customer through set-up. Importing past Feedback data costs an extra fee. Fees are due within 30 days of the invoice, unless the order form provides otherwise.
Quantum Workplace stores your data for 60 days after the contract ends or is not renewed. In those 60 days, you can download a copy of all your data or ask Quantum Workplace for one. Under the master service agreement it then deletes the data securely. That holds unless you tell it otherwise. You can also ask Quantum Workplace to destroy your data at any time.
A review round exports as a CSV file, with extra detail on separate tabs. Review analytics export to PDF or Excel.
You could also run review steps with agents built on your own systems. We have mapped what that looks like. The HR Agent Map
Ten questions to put to Quantum Workplace
- How long is our term, how much notice ends it, and does it renew by itself? Good answer: A written term, notice period and renewal rule on the order form.
- Which document governs our contract, the terms of service or the master service agreement? Good answer: One named document, attached to the order form.
- Will you limit the licence over our data to running our own account? Good answer: Yes, in the order form, with a date when our data is deleted.
- Which data trains your non-generative machine learning models, and can we opt out? Good answer: De-identified data only, defined in writing, with an opt-out.
- Which Cue features are on from day one, and who on our side can switch each one off? Good answer: A list by feature, and a named administrator who controls each one.
- Who can see a manager’s private notes, through Employee Snapshot or anywhere else? Good answer: Only the person who wrote them, shown in a live demo and confirmed in writing.
- Does the Flight Risk prediction use our review ratings, and who sees the result? Good answer: It uses ratings only if we switch that on, and only named HR roles see it.
- Where is our data stored and processed, including the AI processing? Good answer: A named country and a named hosting company for each.
- Can you lower the 2% weekly interest on late payments? Good answer: A lower rate, or a grace period, written into the order form.
- What is our price at our headcount, and what does each product cost on its own? Good answer: A written quote per product, with the discount steps by number of users.
Alternatives to Quantum Workplace
Weigh Quantum Workplace against 15Five, Betterworks, Culture Amp, Leapsome and PerformYard.
15Five Perform costs $11 per user a month, billed yearly. Perform covers AI-assisted reviews, 360 feedback, objectives and key results, and career paths. Below about 113 users, it costs less a year than Quantum Workplace’s $15,000 minimum. Betterworks Performance costs $8 per user a month. That package includes review rounds and AI assistance, and implementation costs extra once. Below about 156 users, it costs less a year than the $15,000 minimum.
Culture Amp sells Perform by quote. Its price depends on employee count, the product and the service tier, and all products are billed yearly. It offers a Perform Only plan beside plans for engagement, effectiveness and development. Leapsome Performance Reviews cost €7 per employee a month. The Leapsome platform is always part of the plan. Exact figures come in the quote, because the website estimator gives list prices only.
PerformYard costs $5 to $15 per person a month, billed yearly. The price varies with employee count and chosen products. It charges nothing extra for onboarding or training, and connections to HR systems and company login come with every plan.
You may not need a separate product. If you already run an HR system, check whether it includes reviews first. BambooHR’s Pro plan costs about $17 per employee a month and includes 360 review cycles and one-to-one meetings. That price also covers its core HR system. See every product side by side in the comparison.
