Salesforce Agentforce HR Service

Employees ask Salesforce’s AI assistant about leave, direct deposit and HR cases in Slack, Teams or a portal. It updates their records in your HR system. It passes sensitive topics, such as bereavement, to a person. Plans cost $15, $50 or $75 per user per month, billed yearly.

Salesforce’s HR assistant costs $15 to $75 per user, and its reported result is Salesforce’s own

In one line

Agentforce HR Service is an AI assistant that employees ask in Slack, Teams or a web portal. It answers HR questions and updates records in your HR system.

Buy it if

Your company already runs Salesforce Service Cloud, or uses Workday, SAP or ADP. You want a price you can read first. You want a person to take over when a question is sensitive.

Do not buy it if

You need to see a result from a company that is not Salesforce. You need contract and exit terms before you start. Ask Salesforce for both first.

Price

$15, $50 or $75 per user per month, billed yearly, depending on the edition. For 1,000 users the $15 edition comes to $15,000 a month. Salesforce says the prices may change.

It answers HR questions and changes records in your HR system

Agentforce HR Service is an AI assistant combined with the employee service tools of Salesforce’s Service Cloud product. An employee asks a question and gets an answer that fits them. They can also ask the assistant to do something. The assistant works out what the employee wants, then carries out the action.

The actions are everyday HR tasks. An employee can update their address, phone number or last name. They can request leave, cancel leave or check their balance, and the assistant updates the request in the HR system. They can view or edit their direct deposit details. They can also log an HR case for a special request and ask for the status of their latest case.

The assistant reads data from your HR system through ready-made connections to Workday, SAP and ADP. You can add data from other HR systems, such as SuccessFactors, to personalise the answers. Employees reach it in Slack, Microsoft Teams, a web portal or web chat.

A safeguard covers sensitive questions. When a question is highly complex or highly personal, the assistant passes the conversation to a human HR representative. For example, it hands over a bereavement conversation. It picks up on bereavement language and tone. On data, Salesforce says its security layer, called the Agentforce Trust Layer, keeps no data after the AI model answers. It also says the layer finds sensitive information in a question and masks it before the question reaches the model.

Salesforce launched Agentforce in 2024. In June 2025 it planned to release the HR topics and actions in its employee portal and in Slack. Our guide to AI HR assistants shows how the rest of this market compares.

The prices are public and sensitive questions go to a person

You can read three prices before you call anyone

Salesforce publishes the price of each edition. They run from $15 to $75 per user per month, billed yearly. You can work out a rough yearly cost from your own headcount before you speak to a salesperson.

Employees can act, not only ask

An employee can change an address, a phone number or a last name by typing it in plain words. They can request or cancel leave, view their leave balance, and edit direct deposit details. The assistant makes the change in the HR system for them.

A sensitive conversation goes to a person

When a question is highly complex or highly personal, the assistant hands the conversation to a human HR representative. For example, it hands a bereavement conversation to a person. It picks up on the language and tone of the message.

It sits in the chat tools staff already use

Employees use the assistant inside the chat apps they already open each day, so there is no new app to learn.

One customer result, changeable prices and the HR system you use

The one customer result is Salesforce’s own

The one customer result on this page comes from Salesforce’s own HR team. It reports a 96% self-service resolution rate. The assistant supports 76,000 Salesforce employees, all through Slack.

The prices can change

Salesforce says its pricing page is for information only and may change. Ask for the price in writing, with the edition name, before you plan a budget.

It reads and writes in your HR system, so your HR system matters

You can add data from SuccessFactors. If your HR system is not Workday, SAP or ADP, ask Salesforce how it connects and who builds it.

Three editions cost $15, $50 and $75 per user per month, billed yearly

The “AI Agents for Employees” edition costs $15 per user per month, billed annually. The “HR Service Desk, Enterprise Edition” costs $50. The “HR Service Desk, Unlimited Edition” costs $75. Each price is per user, so the bill grows with the number of users you count.

Here is what that means for 1,000 users. The $15 edition comes to $15,000 a month. The $50 edition comes to $50,000 and the $75 edition to $75,000. Ask who counts as a user. If every employee counts, you pay for the whole company. If only some do, the bill is smaller.

Salesforce says Agentforce and its connection tool, Mule for Flow, are included in its IT and HR Service products. It does not meter their usage. That means the three prices should be the whole bill for usage. Ask for that in the order form. Ask which edition adds the HR actions you want.

You could also build the same steps on your own systems. We have mapped what that looks like. The HR Agent Map

Eight questions for the demo

  1. Which edition gives employees the HR actions, such as leave and direct deposit? Is it the $15 one? Good answer: A named edition, with the list of actions it includes, in writing.
  2. Who counts as a user for the price? Every employee, or only the people who open the assistant? Good answer: A written definition, with a monthly count we can check.
  3. Which of our HR systems does the assistant write to, and which can it only read? Good answer: A list by system, naming each action it can complete.
  4. How does the assistant decide to pass a conversation to a person, and who receives it? Good answer: A named HR team, and a setting we control.
  5. Is the usage really unmetered on our edition? What would make you charge extra? Good answer: Nothing extra on our edition, written into the order form.
  6. What results can a customer other than Salesforce show, and can we speak to one? Good answer: An outside company of our size, ready to take our call.
  7. What contract length, cancellation terms, notice and data export do we get? Can we take our HR case history with us? Good answer: A notice period, the contract length, the cancellation terms and an export format, all written into the contract.
  8. Which model provider sees our employees’ questions, and where is the data held? Good answer: A named provider and country, with the zero data retention promise in the contract.

Alternatives to Salesforce Agentforce HR Service

If Salesforce comes off your shortlist, look at Freshservice HR Agent, Moveworks, Workativ and Leena AI. Buying nothing is a fifth option.

Freshservice HR Agent works in BambooHR. It is free until 31 December 2026 for eligible Freshservice Growth, Pro and Enterprise customers. Freshworks says it will share price details closer to the end of that period. Choose it if you already use Freshservice.

Workativ publishes a Business plan at $349 a month. It includes 500 AI chat sessions and 2 AI assistants. Leena AI charges a flat yearly price per employee, and says you get a number within one business day after you answer six questions. Moveworks sells by custom quote.

Buying nothing means HR staff keep answering leave, address and direct deposit questions by hand. That is a fair choice if the volume is small. The $15 edition would cost $180,000 a year for 1,000 users. Count your HR questions before you pay for any of these.
