AI HR assistants for enterprise companies

Check where each assistant sends your employees’ questions and who may reuse that data. If one HR system vendor runs your HR, start with its own assistant. If you run several HR systems, shortlist Moveworks, Leena AI, Wisq Harper and Workativ.

Start with

The assistant from your HR system vendor. Workday · SAP Joule · Oracle · UKG Bryte · Dayforce · ADP

Add one

When you run several HR systems. Moveworks · Leena AI · Wisq Harper · Workativ

If it fits

Microsoft (you run Microsoft 365 Copilot) · Salesforce Agentforce (you run Salesforce service desks) · Applaud (staff without a desk, on WhatsApp, from 500 users) · Atomicwork (one help desk for HR, IT and Finance) · Simpplr (the assistant sits in your intranet) · Freshservice HR Agent (you run Freshservice and BambooHR)

Personio Assistant (built for companies of 10 to 2,000 employees) · Rippling AI (its AI customer stories come from companies with 24 and 60 employees)

SAP and UKG keep some right to use your data. Workday order forms cannot be cancelled. Microsoft’s harassment topic comes switched off. Freshservice lets anyone with access to its AI Agent Studio read every chat log.

At this size the question is which HR systems it must reach

All of these assistants answer common employee HR questions. At a large company the difference is how many HR systems they reach. Workday, SAP, Oracle, UKG, Dayforce and ADP build their assistants for their own HR systems. Moveworks links to four big HR systems. Wisq Harper links to five. Leena AI has 200+ pre-built links.

Language support is the second difference. Leena AI works in 100+ languages and Workativ in 95+. Atomicwork supports 25+. Workday Everywhere offers ten. Wisq Harper answers in whatever language the employee asks in.

Ask every vendor whether answers are limited to what the employee can already see. UKG’s policy-question feature, Employee Assist, answers every employee with Bryte access. Its documents are not split by role or department. Any document HR marks for the assistant can be read by every employee who uses Bryte.

Pick your HR system’s own assistant, or one that reaches several

Use the assistant from your HR system vendor first

Workday Self-Service Agent handles time-off requests, expenses and profile updates. It checks the employee’s Workday role before it acts and logs each action in the Workday audit log. SAP’s Explain Pay helps employees understand their pay statements. In its HR help desk product, Enterprise Service Management, SAP Joule creates cases automatically.

Oracle Employee Concierge sends each question to a specialist AI assistant. Examples are the Leave and Absence Analyst and the Pay Analyst. UKG Bryte AI covers time off, clocking in and out, pay statements and company policy questions.

Dayforce AI Assistant answers from your organisation’s content in Dayforce. ADP Assist works in Microsoft Teams for six ADP systems.

The six from HR system vendors
Product Works on Where staff use it What it costs
Workday Self-Service Agent Workday. Slack, Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Gemini or Workday itself. Workday Everywhere has ten languages. Workday’s own units. 1 per lookup and 5 per task. No extra licence.
SAP Joule SAP SuccessFactors. Web, mobile, chatbot, Teams and email, in SAP’s HR help desk product, Enterprise Service Management. Joule Base adds no cost with SAP’s HCM (human capital management, its HR suite) Base or Premium plan. Joule Premium is billed monthly in AI-units.
Oracle Employee Concierge Oracle Fusion Applications. The Ask Oracle chat panel. Teams and Slack links can be added. No additional cost. Switching on Oracle’s ready-made user roles may still count toward what you pay for.
UKG Bryte AI UKG Pro, UKG Pro Workforce Management and UKG Ready. The Bryte chat panel. Two separate services, one for Ready and one for Pro. Ask UKG for the price.
Dayforce AI Assistant Dayforce. Inside Dayforce. Ask Dayforce whether it works in the mobile app. Ask Dayforce for the price.
ADP Assist ADP Workforce Now, Vantage HCM, Enterprise HR, Lyric HCM, RUN and TotalSource. Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot. Ask ADP for the price.

Add one of four assistants that reach several HR systems

Eight products here reach two or more HR systems. Start with four of them. Each is sold on its own, so you do not need Microsoft Copilot or Salesforce to use them. Each has a named customer with 2,800 staff or more.

Moveworks links to Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM Cloud and UKG Pro. Johnson Controls uses it for more than 100,000 employees in 150 countries. Support calls fell by about 40%. Siemens Healthineers built its assistant, Ada, on Moveworks for 74,000 employees. Moveworks is still sold on its own since ServiceNow bought it.

Leena AI has 200+ pre-built links, including Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, UKG Pro, BambooHR and Dayforce. Mahindra Finance uses it for more than 25,000 employees. Beacon Mobility uses it for 18,000. After 12 months, 60% of Beacon’s queries were automated. A question Leena AI spots as sensitive goes to a human HR contact by default. Line managers cannot see chat transcripts linked to a named employee.

Wisq Harper links to Workday, UKG, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP and Dayforce. Breeze Airways has 2,800 staff. Wisq Harper answered 91% of their HR questions without passing them to a person. FICO, a 4,000-person company, uses Wisq for HR.

Workativ connects to 11 named HR systems and 100+ others, and it can look up and update records in each. GoTo, with 5,000 employees, runs it in Slack for IT and HR. GoTo resolved 80% of HR queries automatically with Workday connected to Workativ in Slack.

These six fit a specific setup

Microsoft Employee Self-Service Agent suits companies that run Microsoft 365 Copilot. Microsoft rolled it out to more than 200,000 of its own employees. It works in Copilot chat and the Copilot phone app. The Teams version still has known problems, so staff should use Copilot chat for now.

Salesforce Agentforce HR Service brings Salesforce’s service desk tools to HR, so it suits companies that already run Salesforce for service. It hands complex or personal topics, such as bereavement, to a human HR representative.

Applaud lets you start with as few as 500 users. It reaches staff without a desk or company laptop in WhatsApp.

Atomicwork serves HR, IT and Finance teams from one platform.

Simpplr puts its assistant inside its intranet. UKG moved more than 15,000 employees onto Simpplr in 17 days.

Freshservice’s HR Agent handles leave, profile and timesheet requests in BambooHR.

The nine from outside your HR system vendor
Product Staff at a named customer HR systems it reaches How you pay Where staff use it

Leena AI 25,000 and more. Mahindra Finance. 200+ links. Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, UKG Pro, BambooHR and Dayforce among them. A flat yearly price per employee, unlimited use. Mobile, web, Teams, Slack, phone and WhatsApp. 100+ languages.
Wisq Harper 4,000. FICO. Five. Workday, UKG, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP and Dayforce. Ask Wisq for the price. Chat, email, Slack, Teams, SMS and mobile. Any language.
Microsoft Employee Self-Service Agent Over 200,000. Microsoft’s own staff. Workday and SAP SuccessFactors, plus ServiceNow tickets. A Copilot licence, or 15 cents a query on average without one. Copilot chat and the Copilot phone app.
Salesforce Agentforce HR Service 76,000 employees in Slack. Ask Salesforce whose staff these are. Workday, SAP and ADP. $15, $50 or $75 per user a month, billed yearly. Slack, Teams, portal and chat.
Applaud Ask Applaud for a customer of your size. Workday, SAP SuccessFactors and Oracle HCM, plus ServiceNow. 1,000+ pre-built links. Per user a month, by quote. Starts at 500 users. Applaud, Teams, Slack, mobile and WhatsApp.
Workativ 5,000. GoTo. 11 named HR systems and 100+ others. Business plan $349 a month for 500 chat sessions. Enterprise by quote. Website, Slack, Teams, WhatsApp and Messenger. 95+ languages.
Atomicwork Over 1,600. Zuora. BambooHR, Workday, Rippling, ADP and Gusto. HR workspace on the Business and Enterprise plans. Ask for their price. Professional starts at $25,000 a year. Slack, Teams, email, browser and portal. 25+ languages.
Simpplr EX Agent 15,000 and more. UKG. Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Workday and ServiceNow. Quote only. Intranet discount from 500 employees. Intranet, mobile, Slack and Teams.

Skip these two for now

Personio’s CEO said in 2022 that Personio targets companies of 10 to 2,000 employees. Rippling AI’s customer stories come from companies with 24 and 60 employees. Ask Rippling whether Teams access is live for you.

Workday bills each action, Salesforce each user, and Microsoft depends on Copilot licences

Workday charges in its own units, called “Flex Credits”. A lookup costs 1 and a completed task costs 5. Workday offers a yearly allotment of free units, based on company size. Workday’s Self-Service Agent needs no extra licence.

Microsoft’s assistant runs on a Copilot licence. Without one, the average price is 15 cents a query. Salesforce charges per user. Its AI Agents for Employees edition costs $15 a user a month. The two HR Service Desk editions cost $50 and $75. All three Salesforce editions are billed yearly. If every employee is a user, the $15 edition costs $180,000 a year for each 1,000 employees.

Oracle’s AI assistants come at no additional cost in Fusion Applications. SAP includes Joule Base with its HCM Base or Premium plan.

Atomicwork gives HR its own workspace on its Business and Enterprise plans. Ask for their price. Its Professional plan starts at $25,000 a year for up to 250 end users. The Professional plan includes two AI assistants. Each extra one costs $499 a month. Workativ’s Business plan costs $349 a month and covers 500 chat sessions a month. Ask Workativ how many chat sessions your headcount needs.

Leena AI quotes a flat yearly price per employee. Moveworks, Applaud and Simpplr quote on request. Ask UKG, Dayforce, ADP and Wisq for the price. Freshservice’s AI Agent Studio is free for Growth, Pro and Enterprise customers until 31 December 2026. Freshworks will share pricing nearer that date. Take your headcount and your busiest month of questions to every call.

Check data use, chat access, exit terms and local law

Some vendors keep a right to use your data

SAP can use your data to build new AI features if your contract allows it. The part to read is called the product development schedule. UKG may build aggregated data from de-identified usage logs. Wisq may keep anonymised data to improve its own systems. Workday never shares customer data to train third-party public models. Read this clause before you sign.

Who can read chats, and what happens to them

In Freshservice’s HR Agent, anyone with access to its AI Agent Studio can read every conversation log. You cannot limit who sees which logs. A Rippling AI answer in a channel is visible to everyone there. Workday deletes chats after 30 days and keeps completed actions in its audit log. Microsoft’s assistant can spot harassment and discrimination questions. That setting is off at the start. When it is on, the assistant tells the employee to contact a representative and ends the chat.

Contracts are hard to leave or shrink

Workday order forms cannot be cancelled and payments are not refundable, with exceptions in the agreement. Applaud does not let you reduce users during a term and renews automatically unless you give written notice. Export your Workativ data within two months of leaving. After that it is deleted. Simpplr exports your data only if you ask within 30 days.

Worker representatives may need a say first

In Germany a works council can co-decide on tools that can monitor how staff behave or perform. A works council is the elected body that speaks for employees. In France the employee committee called the CSE must be informed and consulted on new technology. Leena AI has a guide for works councils. It will share its exit and deletion clauses with them.

Data location and notice rules vary

Wisq processes and stores data in the United States. Applaud lets you choose Frankfurt or Oregon. Moveworks keeps each customer’s data in that customer’s region and never moves it elsewhere. The EU AI Act says people must be told they are talking to an AI system. That duty has applied since 2 August 2026. California privacy law has covered employees and job applicants since 1 January 2023.

Products are changing hands and being retired

ServiceNow completed its purchase of Moveworks on 15 December 2025. Thoma Bravo completed its purchase of Dayforce on 4 February 2026. Workday plans to retire Workday Assistant in its 2027 R2 release. Support for Simpplr Classic ends on 31 October 2026. After that, moving off Simpplr Classic is at your cost or needs a fresh setup.

What should you ask each vendor before signing?

  1. Workday: What does one unit cost us, and how many free units do we get each year? Good answer: A written rate and a written allotment.
  2. SAP: Will you remove our data from the product development schedule? Good answer: Yes, in the contract.
  3. Oracle: Which of our user roles will count toward what we pay for when we switch the assistants on? Good answer: A list of roles in writing.
  4. UKG: What do the Ready and Pro versions of Bryte cost for our headcount? Good answer: Two named prices.
  5. Dayforce: What do the AI Assistant and the AI Agents cost for our headcount? Good answer: A written price for each.
  6. ADP: Which of our ADP systems does ADP Assist work on today? Good answer: A yes or no for each system.
  7. Moveworks: Will you keep selling Moveworks on its own for our whole term? Good answer: Yes, in the contract.
  8. Moveworks: Can we pay through Azure Marketplace and use our Microsoft spend commitment? Good answer: A yes or no, with the price.
  9. Leena AI: What is the yearly price per employee at our headcount and workforce mix? Good answer: A number within one business day.
  10. Leena AI: Can we read your exit and deletion clauses before we sign? Good answer: The clauses, sent before signing.
  11. Wisq Harper: Can our staff data be processed outside the United States? Good answer: A region named in the contract.
  12. Wisq Harper: Your agreement bars us from sending sensitive data. What counts as sensitive, and what happens when an employee types it? Good answer: A written list and a handling step.
  13. Microsoft: Does our Copilot licence cover every employee, or will some pay 15 cents a query? Good answer: A list of who is covered.
  14. Salesforce: Which edition do we need to reach Workday and ADP? Good answer: One named edition and its price.
  15. Applaud: Can we reduce users at renewal? Good answer: Yes, written into the order form.
  16. Atomicwork: Which plan includes HR support, and what does it cost at our headcount? Good answer: One plan name and a written price.
  17. Simpplr: Are we on Simpplr Classic? If so, who pays to move us? Good answer: Simpplr pays, or a date in the contract.

Try the assistant inside your HR system before buying another

If you run Workday, SAP or Oracle, the built-in assistant needs no extra licence. At SAP that is Joule Base. Joule Premium is billed by use. Workday bills its assistant in Workday’s own units. Switch it on. After a month, check which questions it answered and which it passed to HR. Then decide whether you need another tool. At Oracle, switching on ready-made user roles may still count toward what you pay for.

If your company is smaller, read the mid-market guide. If many of your staff have no company laptop or email, read the guide for frontline staff. The comparison puts all eighteen assistants side by side. Our guide to AI HR assistants covers the whole market.
