Freshworks began a restructuring plan in November 2024, mainly staff severance. A shareholder lawsuit over its 2021 share offering was filed in November 2022. The court ruled for Freshworks in April 2025, and the plaintiff has appealed. Both matter if you want a supplier that will stay stable for years.

Free for eligible customers now, unpriced after 2026

The promotion covers the Freddy AI Agent Studio. Check what your own Freshservice plan costs, because the promotion is open only to some Freshservice plans. Freshworks will share pricing and packaging details closer to the end of the promotion.

A separate product, Freddy AI Copilot, costs $29 per staff seat a month. It is not the same as the HR Agent. Ask Freshworks which one you would pay for after the promotion.

Freshworks’ terms give you 14 days to export your data after an account closes. It keeps that data for up to three months before it deletes it for good. Data from any Freshworks free trial is deleted for good if you do not export it before the trial ends. Ask Freshworks whether that rule covers the promotion.

Freshworks builds its AI features from its own models and from Microsoft Azure OpenAI models. Almost all data in its products sits in Amazon Web Services data centres.

Six questions for the demo

1. Can we limit who reads employee conversations, by role or by topic? Good answer: Yes, with a date for when the setting arrives, and in writing before we sign.
2. What will the HR Agent cost us on 1 January 2027, for our number of employees? Good answer: A written price, or a written cap on any increase.
3. Our HR system is not BambooHR. Which of its actions can the assistant complete? Good answer: A named list of actions, shown live in a demo on our own system.
4. What support and promises come with the free promotion? Good answer: The same terms as a paid plan, or a clear list of what differs.
5. Where do employee chats go when Freshworks uses its own AI models and Microsoft Azure OpenAI models? Good answer: A named list of providers and the country where each one handles our data.
6. How do we get our conversation logs out when we leave? Good answer: A file format, and a time window longer than 14 days.
