Two early results, neither broken out by HR

Ammex raised the share of requests solved without a person from 20% to 65%. Its target is 80%. Zuora cut its ticket volume by more than 50%.

Neither result is split out by HR. Ammex had its IT help desk running in two months, with HR, logistics and finance following shortly after. Zuora has over 1,600 employees across 15 offices. It launched its first phase for IT and HR support in four months. Ask Atomicwork how much of each result came from HR requests.

Customers range in size. Catalyst Education has more than 200 employees in Australia. Pepper Money, in financial services, has more than 800 employees across Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines. Pepper Money wants to use Atomicwork in business units outside technology.

Read the contract terms before the demo

Atomicwork’s terms of service contain a mandatory arbitration clause. Disputes go to individual arbitration. You waive class actions and jury trials. Talk to a lawyer about that before you sign.

The terms also limit what Atomicwork owes you for a loss or injury. The cap is the fee, if any, you paid for access to the website or platform. Ask whether the order form can set a higher cap.

Atomicwork sends employee questions to outside AI suppliers. They include Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, Anthropic, Amazon Web Services Bedrock, Google Cloud and Groq, depending on your region and set-up. Atomicwork does not use customer personal data to train or fine-tune its own models or any outside model. The one exception is a customer who opts in to fine-tuning for its own account in a written agreement.

The company is young. It was founded in 2022. It announced an $11 million seed round in September 2023. It added $3 million or more in September 2024. It announced a Series A of over $25 million in January 2025.

It suits a company that wants HR and IT on one platform

Atomicwork suits a company that wants one help desk for HR, IT and Finance. Each department gets its own workspace, so HR runs its own requests. It suits a team that uses Workday, ADP, BambooHR, Rippling or Gusto. Those employees can ask about leave in Slack or Microsoft Teams.

Ask what the HR plans cost before you plan a budget

Atomicwork sells its entry plan, Professional, from $25,000 a year. That covers 2 AI Coworkers and up to 250 end users, and the bill comes yearly. Each extra AI Coworker costs $499 a month. HR workspaces come with the Business and Enterprise plans. Ask Atomicwork for that price in writing. Do not read $25,000 as the price of HR.

Atomicwork also charges per outcome. Knowledge support costs $1 per outcome, with a minimum of 25,000 outcomes a year. Access automation costs $2 per outcome, with a minimum of 12,000 a year. Service resolution starts from $3 per outcome, with a minimum of 8,000 a year. Ask which of these applies to HR.

Atomicwork states indicative retention periods. Account profile data is kept for the life of the account plus 90 days. Support tickets and conversation data are kept for the life of the subscription plus 30 days. Your data processing agreement can set a different period. Ending the agreement needs 30 days’ written notice, and a charge may apply. Get that amount in writing before you sign.

Eight questions for the demo

1. Does the Professional plan include an HR workspace? If not, what does the first plan with HR cost? Good answer: A written price for HR, with the number of employees it covers.
2. What counts as one outcome for HR? Is a leave balance question one outcome? Good answer: A written list of what is billed, with an example month for a company of our size.
3. What is the termination charge in the 30-day notice clause, and when does it apply? Good answer: A fixed amount or formula, written into the order form.
4. Will you change the arbitration clause and the limit on your liability for our contract? Good answer: An agreed change, or a clear reason why a customer of our size cannot have one.
5. Which of our HR systems can Atomicwork change, and which can it only read? Good answer: A list by system, with the actions each one allows.
6. What share of the Ammex and Zuora results came from HR requests? Good answer: A figure for HR alone, from a customer we can phone.
7. Which AI model suppliers will handle our employee questions, and where do they run? Good answer: A named list for our region, with a promise to tell us before it changes.
8. When we leave, how do we take our conversations and tickets with us? Good answer: A file format and a date, written into the contract.
