Foundation starts at $8,000 a year. Platinum starts at $15,000 a year. Litmos prices by the year, not per user per month. The Platinum AI plan adds embedded AI across the platform. It also adds skill-gap identification and insights. Litmos quotes it on request. Add-ons are sold on top of the plans. Data Services is sold separately from the reports inside the LMS. Litmos Certification for your administrators costs $149 per person.

Litmos bills on active users. An active user is a distinct login in the billing period. Several logins by the same person count as one. Suppose you use more than you bought and your order has no rate. Litmos may then invoice 1.5 times the fee per user licence for each extra licence. After the contract ends, Litmos may invoice any further use at its then-current rates.

Public records show what some buyers signed. Walsall Housing Group’s contract with Litmos UK, Ltd ran from 1 June 2025 to 31 May 2026. It came to £37,800 including VAT. Stockport Homes awarded Litmos UK Limited a contract for 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2027. Its total value is £35,437. A US federal purchase order for a Litmos software renewal, signed in September 2023, totals $121,154. Another, signed in September 2025, totals $54,340. Ask what user count a quote covers before you compare it with these.

Two more terms affect the cost of a dispute. Each side’s total liability is capped at the fees paid or payable in the twelve months before the cause arose. A breach by Litmos of its data protection or privacy duties has a higher cap. That cap is two times the fees paid in those twelve months. Purchases from Litmos US, L.P. fall under Delaware law. Purchases from any other Litmos company fall under the laws of England and Wales.

What to ask before you sign

1. Which Litmos company sells to us, and which law governs the contract? Good answer: The Litmos company named on the order form, and the governing law that follows from it.
2. What happens to our user count at renewal, and can we lower it with 90 days’ notice? Good answer: A written right to reduce users at renewal.
3. What rate applies if we go over the users we bought? Good answer: A rate on the order form, so the 1.5 times default never applies.
4. Which AI features does the plan we are quoting include, and which cost extra? Good answer: A feature list on the order form with a price beside each one.
5. Does any of our course or learner data reach Anthropic or any other outside AI company? Good answer: A named list of outside companies, what each sees, and a written promise none trains on our data.
6. Can you send your latest SOC 2 report? Good answer: A report that covers a period after March 2025.
7. How do we export every learner record, and in what format? Good answer: A named format and a test export before we sign.
8. What support hours and languages do we get for each priority level? Good answer: Hours, languages and response times written for every region we work in.
9. Do completions flow back from Litmos to our HR system? Good answer: Yes, with the fields and timing written down.
10. Which features in your 2023 documentation still work as written? Good answer: Yes for offline courses in the app, and a clear answer on mobile video checks.

Alternatives to Litmos, including buying nothing
