Breezy HR scores each applicant from 0 to 10, and you pay for each score

Breezy HR is an applicant tracking system, the software that holds your job applications. Breezy Intelligence is the set of AI features built into it. The main one scores each applicant from 0 to 10 against criteria you set. Another suggests past candidates for a new role. You pay for the AI in prepaid usage units, which start at $30 per 100,000.

Breezy HR adds AI scoring to its tracking system from about 15 cents an applicant

In one line

Breezy HR scores every applicant against your criteria and shows the reasons. It suggests past candidates for new roles. It can move top scorers forward if you switch that on. A score alone cannot send anyone to the disqualified stage.

Buy it if

You want AI scoring inside the system that holds your applications. You want to pay by use and read the unit price yourself. You want a free plan or a 14-day trial to test it first.

Do not buy it if

Your legal team needs suppliers to sign your own data processing agreement. That is the contract that sets how a supplier handles your applicants’ personal data. Breezy’s parent company, LTG, cannot sign one. You need to rescore applicants after changing the criteria. Breezy scores each person once.

Price

Breezy Intelligence is an add-on for every plan. Usage units start at $30 per 100,000. One applicant review uses about 500 units, so about 15 cents at that rate. Plans start free. Startup, Growth and Business show monthly prices from $157 to $529. Ask for the Custom Pro price.

How Breezy scores applicants, finds past candidates and checks CVs

Applicant Insights, part of Breezy Intelligence, does the scoring. It reads CVs in 25 languages. Breezy drafts up to five scoring categories from the job description, or you start from four defaults. You can mark up to three as must-haves. A score below 5 on one caps the overall score at that level. Breezy strips personal details, then compares experience with the job description.

Each candidate gets an overall score from 0 to 10 and a breakdown. If you switch on Move Based on Score, candidates who meet your minimum move to a stage you pick. A questionnaire answer can send a candidate to Disqualified.

Candidate Sourcing searches your own Breezy account for past applicants who fit a new role. It needs at least 500 candidate records. It leaves out some people. They are people added over three years ago, people with no email address and blocked people. People whose consent under GDPR has expired are left out too. GDPR is the EU and UK data protection law.

Resume Audit checks how genuine a CV looks. It can flag a CV as likely to hold copied or AI-written text.

Interview Analysis scores a recorded interview and is a paid-plan subscription. Breezy also connects to Mega HR, for AI-led video interviews, and Claira, which ranks applicants. Each needs its own account. A further link lets AI tools such as ChatGPT work inside your account.

What works in your favour

You can try the AI before you pay for it

Breezy Intelligence is an add-on for every Breezy plan, including the free Bootstrap plan. The free trial runs 14 days and needs no credit card. It includes 100,000 usage units. That covers about 200 applicant reviews.

Every score comes with its reasons

Each applicant gets a breakdown by category, so you see why they scored as they did. You set the criteria. When you save them, Breezy checks them and suggests corrections if it finds a problem.

You keep the final decision, and your data does not train the AI

Under Breezy’s terms, AI content should not be the only basis for a hiring decision. Breezy advises against using education, experience or employment gaps as must-haves where you can. Breezy does not use customer content to train AI models.

An outside firm audits the scoring every month

Warden AI checks Applicant Insights for bias every month. It checks by sex, by race or ethnicity and by the two combined. Warden rates sex bias and the combined check as Clear. Breezy has also completed the bias audit that New York City’s Local Law 144 requires.

Where Breezy stops, from one-time scoring to a one-sided contract

Scoring happens once, and some people are skipped

Breezy will not rescore a candidate after you change the criteria. It skips candidates who applied before you switched the tool on. It also skips CVs it cannot read and candidates in a disqualified stage. You can scan earlier candidates by hand from their profiles, or in bulk from the pipeline.

The audit evidence has limits

The Warden AI report is not a certification or proof of full compliance. Warden tested its own candidate profiles, not Breezy’s data. Notice, consent, audits and human oversight stay with you.

The contract favours Breezy

Breezy’s liability is capped at the greater of $20 or three months of fees. The fees count only for the service in question. Breezy can stop, suspend or change the service without notice when it judges this necessary.

Breezy’s parent company cannot sign your data processing agreement

A data processing agreement sets how a supplier handles applicants’ personal data. LTG, Breezy’s parent company, cannot sign a client’s agreement. Amazon Web Services hosts Breezy in Germany or the USA, at your choice. Breezy also offers EU data centres for EU and UK customers.

Suggested profiles can reach colleagues

A suggested profile can become visible to colleagues who had no access to the role. Check who can see what before you switch it on.

Two AI features are in beta

AI Interview Analysis and the AI link for tools such as ChatGPT and Claude are still being tested.

Who Breezy HR suits

Breezy’s customer stories cover teams of very different sizes. Pointed Copywriting has five part-time, remote employees. Its story is about the tracking system. Dodge Data & Analytics has nearly 500 people. Piksel has 650 employees in 11 offices.

Every plan has unlimited users, so more recruiters do not raise the price. Your cost follows the plan and your AI use. A role with few applicants costs little to score. The free Bootstrap plan allows one active position at a time.

What Breezy costs and what the contract says

Breezy sells plans and the AI add-on separately. Bootstrap is free. Startup, Growth and Business each show two monthly prices. Startup shows $157 and $189. Growth shows $273 and $329. Business shows $439 and $529. Annual pricing includes two months free. Custom Pro adds an account manager and advanced reporting.

The AI runs on prepaid usage units from $30 per 100,000. They never expire. Unused units are not refunded if you cancel. You buy them in steps of 100,000, and an account holds at most 1,000,000. When units run out, the AI tools switch off until you add more.

One applicant review uses about 500 units. A role with 1,000 applicants costs about $150 to score at the entry rate. A CV audit uses up to 600 units. A review plus an audit costs up to about 33 cents a person. One Candidate Sourcing search uses about 50,000 units. Interview Analysis is a separate subscription.

Payments are due within 30 days of the invoice. Unpaid amounts can carry interest of up to 1.5% a month. You own your content. You also give Breezy a worldwide licence to it for the length of your subscription. Breezy can pass that right to others.

If you cancel a paid account, Breezy deletes your data one year later. You can regain access if you resubscribe within that year. If you ask for immediate deletion, a new subscription cannot recover the data. Candidate data exports to a spreadsheet file.

You could also find and screen people with agents built on your own systems. We have mapped what that looks like. The HR Agent Map

Alternatives to Breezy HR

Four applicant tracking systems with AI are close alternatives to Breezy HR. They are Workable, Manatal, Recruitee and Teamtailor.

Workable Agent finds people, checks them against the role and hands your team a shortlist. You can add it to any plan. On annual payment, Standard costs $299 a month, Premier $599 and Enterprise $719. The agent uses prepaid usage units. A bundle of 5,000 costs $600 and 10,000 cost $1,000. One candidate evaluation uses one unit. Every paid account starts with 3,000 free units.

Manatal is an AI-powered applicant tracking system. It charges per user. Professional costs $15 per user a month billed annually, with 15 jobs. Enterprise costs $35 and Enterprise Plus costs $55. Its AI Recommendations feature is in beta.

Tellent Recruitee has a Screening Assistant that reviews inbound applications against your criteria. Its Matching Assistant finds candidates already in your database. The Advance plan includes 100 screening units and 3 matching searches a month. The Optimize plan includes 65 matching searches a month.

Teamtailor has a set of AI features called Co-pilot. It searches your talent pool and checks candidates against your criteria. A company admin has to switch it on. It carries no extra cost. Ask Teamtailor for a quote.

Buying nothing means your team reads every application itself. You pay for no AI and run no AI audit. The market guide covers the rest of the market.
