BrainCert publishes prices, but its pages do not agree on what a plan is. Its Enterprise LMS pricing page prices plans by active learners per month, billed annually. A plan at $119 a month covers 100 active learners. A plan at $239 covers 200, and one at $511 covers 500. The Enterprise tier starts at $10,000 a year on a custom quote.

BrainCert’s pricing page gives two ways to count users. It defines an Active Learner as a user who has logged in and actively engaged within the last 30 days. It sets active-user pricing by the number of unique users concurrently accessing the portal within a given second. Users idle for an hour drop out of the active users count. Ask which count sets your bill.

BrainCert’s site index gives another set of plans. Bronze is $149, Silver is $299 and Gold is $639. Those plans come with unlimited learners and a custom quote on request. Silver and Gold are tier names that decide single sign-on and the HIPAA amendment. Ask whether the figures are monthly or yearly. Ask which of the three priced plans above matches each name.

The Enterprise tier includes ‘white-glove’ onboarding, meaning hands-on help. It also includes a custom SLA, a written promise about uptime. The tier includes a SOC 2 Type 2 report, a custom audit log duration and dedicated customer support. BrainCert’s Enterprise LMS plans in general also come with role-based access control, single sign-on and SOC 2 Type 2. Ask which plan carries each item.

Under BrainCert’s terms, annual plans need a one-year commitment. Subscription payments are non-refundable. A customer on an annual plan can upgrade to a higher annual plan. That customer cannot downgrade to a plan lower than the current subscription payment value. BrainCert may end a customer’s access to the site and related services at any time without notice. The agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Virginia, with exclusive jurisdiction in Virginia courts. Ask your lawyers about the last two terms.

What to put to BrainCert before you sign

1. Which count sets my bill, learners active over 30 days or users online in the same second? Good answer: One count, written into the order form, worked through at our headcount.
2. Which of your priced plans counts as Silver or higher? Good answer: A written match between each priced plan and each tier name.
3. Is each figure in the Bronze, Silver and Gold set monthly or yearly? Good answer: A period stated beside every figure.
4. Does my plan include single sign-on and the SOC 2 Type 2 report? Good answer: Yes, and both are named in the order form.
5. Which HR systems do you connect to, who builds the link and what does it cost? Good answer: Our HR system by name, with a price and a date.
6. Can I move to a cheaper plan if headcount falls during the term? Good answer: A written route down at renewal, or a shorter first term.
7. What happens to our records and courses when we cancel, and what will learners see? Good answer: A full export first, then a dated deletion of everything.
8. What uptime will you promise in writing, and on which tier? Good answer: A percentage target in a written service-level agreement.
9. How many customers use the Enterprise LMS itself? Good answer: One figure for that product, plus a reference in our sector.

Alternatives to BrainCert

Put the HR system question to BrainCert first. If a named HR link decides the purchase, TalentLMS has links to BambooHR, Sage People, ADP Workforce Now and Workday. The ADP Workforce Now link is a paid integration. The Workday link is a Beta, a test version, on Pro and Enterprise plans. It was validated through Workato’s testing environment, not in a customer Workday environment.

If uptime matters, Docebo’s service level agreement sets an availability target of at least 99.9 percent, measured monthly. Most Docebo customers sign 3 to 5 year contracts, and the minimum is one year. BrainCert’s annual plans need a one-year commitment.
