Docebo typically suits companies training 250 people or more

Docebo is an AI-powered learning platform. It runs compliance training and courses for employees, customers and partners. Two AWS Marketplace listings price 500 yearly active users at $35,900, one per 12 months and one per 36 months. Docebo’s new AI charges apply from 28 October 2026.

In one line

An AI-powered learning platform for companies training 250 to over 100,000 users, including customers and partners.

Buy it if

You train at least 250 learners. They may be employees, customers and partners. You want training rules, certificates and records in one place. You can sign for a year or more. Most customers sign for three to five years.

Do not buy it if

You train fewer than 100 people. In Docebo’s own words, it is often considered too complex or expensive at that size. You expect your user count to fall. User thresholds cannot be downgraded during the term.

Price

Docebo prices by quote. One AWS Marketplace listing prices Elevate for 500 yearly active users at $35,900 per 12 months. Another puts $35,900 for 500 users under cost per 36 months. Some features free today need AI credits from 28 October 2026. A UK reseller sells onboarding as a mandatory add-on at £11,200, one-off.

Docebo runs courses, records and certificates, with AI around them

Docebo is a learning management system. It assigns courses, tracks progress and runs certifications. It supports blended learning, classroom training, webinars, live online sessions, points and badges, and short lessons. It reads course files in the SCORM 1.2 and 2004, xAPI and AICC standards. Its marketplace holds over 30,000 courses and certifications from content providers.

The AI sits around that core. An AI assistant answers learners’ questions from your organisation’s content. Its tutoring feature, which coaches learners inside courses, is in beta. Creator turns a document or a prompt into a course with lessons, images and knowledge checks. It also writes the assessments from your source material. One click translates a lesson into other languages. Drafts stay drafts until a person publishes them.

Roleplay lets learners practise a conversation. Docebo’s Roleplay FAQ puts it at voice or chat today, with video avatars soon. A Docebo help article puts the default interaction mode at Video. Learners get feedback on clarity, confidence, energy and non-verbal cues. Its summaries come from the text transcript. They use no video or audio recordings.

Staff can also work with Docebo from ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Gemini. Actions run within each user’s existing permissions. Docebo put this in public beta in April 2026 and planned a general launch for July 2026.

Compliance records, security papers and admin control of the AI are its strengths

Compliance training can run on rules, and Docebo keeps the records

Docebo automates enrolment, tracking and certification of compliance training. Rules based on branches and groups enrol people. Admins set expiry dates, so certificates come up for renewal. Docebo keeps an unchangeable record of what admins do. It supports customers who must meet 21 CFR Part 11, the FDA rule on electronic records. A learner can sign a course online to prove who they are.

If your IT or procurement team asks for security papers, Docebo has them

Docebo holds ISO 27001, 27017, 27018 and 27701 certification. Every year it releases a SOC 2 Type II report. That is an independent audit of its security. It is in the FedRAMP marketplace at the Moderate level. FedRAMP is the US government’s cloud approval. Its service agreement sets an availability target of at least 99.9 percent, measured monthly. The agreement sets the region where AWS stores and processes application data. AI processing runs in the EU for EU, India or Australia hosting. It runs in the USA for US or Canada hosting.

Admins decide which AI features people see

An admin can turn the AI assistant off completely or switch on single capabilities. Each AI assistant feature can be tried by the admin alone before everyone sees it. An admin can also limit the assistant to content Docebo has indexed from the platform. Global search is the one AI feature that cannot be switched off. Docebo keeps all customer data private and specific to each customer.

From 28 October 2026, the AI bill depends on use, and the contract sets a floor

From 28 October 2026, your AI bill depends on how much people use

Some features that are free today will need AI credits from 28 October 2026. Docebo uses AI credits to count use of selected AI features. One option is about 20 AI credits per AI-enabled user per month. Existing customers who use features that were free before the change get a lifetime allowance. That allowance does not cover new AI capabilities. Docebo’s AI overview puts Roleplay outside AI credits under the current model. Docebo’s own pricing treats Roleplay as a paid add-on marked usage-based AI. Ask which one applies.

The agents are not generally available yet

Docebo plans full availability of AgentHub and Enterprise Knowledge for autumn 2026. The Agents and the Authoring agent are in beta. Scheduled runs and event triggers for agents are planned for future releases. Instructions in pre-built agents cannot be adjusted. Under its standard agreement, Docebo may end a customer’s use of a beta release at any time for any reason.

Roleplay has limits on how you use it

Under Docebo’s AI terms, a customer will not use Roleplay for decisions that affect the terms of work relationships. A customer will also not use it to monitor and evaluate people’s performance or behaviour. Managers still get a Roleplay tab with team members’ submissions assigned to them for review. Ask Docebo where that line sits before you roll Roleplay out.

A person has to check the AI’s work

Under Docebo’s AI terms, the customer is responsible for reviewing all AI output, including by independent human review. Docebo recommends that a person supervises auto-suggested tags. Automatic skill assignments cannot be reversed.

Docebo’s documents differ on whether your data trains its AI

Docebo’s product pages say customer data never trains its models. Its help guides say Docebo may use aggregated, anonymised customer data to improve its services when AI retraining is on. That option covers only auto tagging and auto skill assignment. If you switch it off, Docebo keeps the data it collected. Docebo’s standard agreement gives it a perpetual, irrevocable licence. The licence covers using, copying, storing and displaying customer data on an aggregated and anonymous basis. Docebo’s data processing addendum covers personal data. Docebo will not use that data to develop and improve its AI. The exception is when the customer or its administrators switch this on in the platform. Get the AI training position written into your order form.

The user count you sign for is a floor, and renewal can reprice you

User thresholds cannot be downgraded during the term. The user count you sign for is the lowest you can pay for. The standard agreement renews for 12 months unless you give notice at least 60 days before the term ends. On renewal the fee is revised. It becomes the lower of two sums. One is Docebo’s then-current fees. The other is 10 percent over the highest annual fee of the previous term. So it can rise by up to 10 percent. Most customers sign 3 to 5 year contracts. The minimum is one year. Each side’s liability is limited to twelve months of fees, with some exceptions.

Getting your records out has a 30-day window

After the agreement ends, Docebo makes your materials available for 30 days. Deletion happens within 60 days of termination. For 365Talents, the skills product Docebo bought, it happens within 90 days. The customer acknowledges that Docebo can only perform logical deletion. Ask Docebo what that means for your data. Docebo provides a portable copy of personal data on request. If you terminate for breach or insolvency, Docebo provides transition services at the same fees for up to six months.

Training away from a desk has gaps offline

The Go.Learn app works offline, except for surveys, tests, and xAPI, LTI and AICC materials. A user must be online to log in with a work account.

Disabled learners get a platform that is partly compliant

The platform is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 levels A and AA, the web accessibility standard. The learner experience is Docebo’s primary accessibility focus. Full details are in its accessibility conformance reports.

It suits compliance-heavy teams, outside audiences and HR-system users

Many of its named customers use it for compliance training

Booking.com uses Docebo for staff training, compliance and onboarding. CHART Healthcare uses it for medical staff training and HIPAA compliance training. Definity Financial uses it for regulatory compliance training. Docebo reports that MidFirst Bank raised compliance rates by 10 percent.

One platform can train staff, customers and partners

Docebo trains employees, customers and partners on one platform. The add-on for outside audiences is Extended Enterprise. It costs extra. The Enterprise plan includes it for up to 10 domains. Docebo reports that Zoom trained over 2,000,000 customers on Zoom Academy.

Ask whether completions reach your HR system

Four connections bring users in. Workday and ADP Workforce Now import them. BambooHR creates and updates them, and deactivates them when BambooHR records a termination. HiBob syncs them. Namely also gets learning history back. Docebo supports more than 400 connections in all.

Docebo prices by quote and bills by yearly active users

Docebo sets its price by quote. The price depends on the plan and on yearly active users. A user counts as active if they are active at any point in the contract year. Above your user limit, you can pay an extra-user rate or upgrade the plan.

One AWS Marketplace listing sells the Elevate plan for 500 yearly active users at $35,900 per 12 months. That is a 36-month agreement billed yearly in advance. It sells 1,000 users at $52,800 per 12 months. A second listing puts $35,900 for 500 users under a heading of cost per 36 months. Omniplex Learning, a UK reseller, published the prices below. They assume a minimum 36-month contract and include the Enable+ support plan.

Elevate, 250 users£18,340 a year

£276 for each extra user a year.

Elevate, 1,000 users£32,718 a year

£123 for each extra user a year.

Elevate, 5,000 users£77,969 a year

£59 for each extra user a year.

Elevate, 10,000 users£112,714 a year

£43 for each extra user a year.

Enterprise, 5,000 users£132,713 a year

£100 for each extra user a year.

A person who is active on one day counts for the full contract year. At 250 users on Elevate, each extra user costs £276 a year. That is nearly four times the £73 average per user at that size.

Enterprise adds up to 6 connections to other systems. It also adds Extended Enterprise for up to 10 domains, advanced analytics and a branded mobile app. Elevate includes up to 4 connections. Several things cost extra. The UK reseller sells onboarding as a mandatory add-on at £11,200, one-off. It sells the branded app at £14,210 per token per year. It sells Extended Enterprise at £4,385 a year for 5 domains. Three more connections cost £5,603 a year. Advanced Analytics onboarding costs £14,646, one-off. It sells AI credits at £812 per 30,000, one-off. Roleplay and Content, from more than 150 publishers, are paid add-ons. Embedded connections such as Salesforce and Teams cost extra.

You could also run training steps with agents built on your own systems. We have mapped what that looks like. The HR Agent Map

Alternatives to Docebo

If Docebo looks like too much, look at LinkedIn Learning, Pluralsight or Sana Learn. Managers who want to practise hard conversations can also look at Risely’s Merlin. If you train fewer than 100 people, buying nothing may be the better call.

LinkedIn Learning sells a library of courses and certifications. It is not a traditional LMS. Its For Teams plan costs $379.88 a seat a year. Pluralsight Skills measures and develops technology skills and is not an LMS built to house content. Its Enterprise plan, for teams of 20 or more, is priced on request.

Sana Learn can be bought whatever your HR system. Its plans start at 300 users. Its pricing page says the price is based on a 3-year contract and has no one-off implementation fee. Docebo’s UK reseller sells onboarding as a mandatory add-on. Sana’s Terms of Service set a 12-month service term unless the agreement says otherwise. Ask Sana which term your quote covers.

If your HR system sells a learning product, read our guide for HR suite customers first.

Merlin is Risely’s AI coach for managers. It plays the other person in a hard conversation, such as a defensive direct report or a sceptical VP. The manager practises the approach before the real conversation. Merlin also works through scenarios with the manager, such as a team member saying they are thinking about quitting.
