TalentLMS and TalentCards

TalentLMS is a training platform that puts its prices on its website. It assigns courses to staff, tracks who finishes and keeps the records. TalentCards, from the same company, puts short lessons on the phones of staff who are not behind a desk. Most of the AI tools need the Pro or Enterprise plan. Skills needs Pro or a new Enterprise plan. Under its terms, TalentLMS may change features without notice.

In one line

A training platform with public prices, plus a phone app for staff away from a desk.

Buy it if

You want to assign training, remind people and prove who finished. You would rather read a price than book a sales call first. Some of your people learn on a phone or in the field.

Do not buy it if

You need the Workday link to be a finished product today. You may want to move your courses to another platform later. You need more than the capped remedy its uptime promise gives. Your lawyers will not accept that TalentLMS may change features without notice.

Price

Core is shown at $119 a month for 1 to 40 users, and the annual charge is $1,428 upfront. Grow is $229 for 1 to 70. Pro is $449 for 1 to 100, plus $6 for each extra user. Most AI tools need Pro or Enterprise. TalentCards costs $0.80 or $1.20 per user a month.

It assigns the training, sends reminders and keeps the record

TalentLMS is a learning management system. That is the place where you give courses to staff and see who finished them. You assign a course, and TalentLMS tracks how each learner progresses.

You can assign courses by role, location or hire date. TalentLMS sends reminders before a deadline. You can set a certificate to expire after a period of time.

The record is what you reach for when someone asks who finished what. Each completion record holds an enrolment date, a completion date, a status and a course score. The training matrix tells you who has started, who is part way through and who has finished. It also shows who has not started. Group supervisors can follow their own people without full admin access.

The Timeline records nearly every action in the portal. It records who did what, to which user or course, and when. You can export it to Excel. The Extended Timeline is a permanent record that survives deleted courses.

You can bring your own courses in the standard course file formats. TalentLMS supports SCORM 1.2, xAPI and cmi5, and it supports LTI 1.3.

Ready-made courses come from several places. TalentLibrary is an add-on on all plans, with 15-minute courses. OpenSesame offers more than 50,000 courses connected to TalentLMS. LinkedIn Learning courses can be embedded. An EasyLlama bundle covers 13 core compliance topics in 74 versions for places and roles. For compliance content from TalentLMS, you alone are responsible for choosing the version that meets your local requirements.

You can also link recurring instructor-led sessions, in a room or online, to an online course. Online sessions connect to Zoom, Microsoft Teams, GoToMeeting, GoToTraining, GoToWebinar and BigBlueButton.

Setting it up needs no specialist or technical expertise. Most small businesses could launch their portal in under a day. G2’s Summer 2026 report puts TalentLMS at 1.6 months to go live, against an industry average of 3.1.

Staff can learn on a phone, and it connects to common HR systems

Staff away from a desk can finish training offline

Learners can download courses from the free TalentLMS app, finish them offline and sync later. TalentCards turns a lesson into flashcards. Staff open them with a QR code or an invite sent to a phone number. Schindler Group, with 65,000 employees across the globe, is a TalentCards customer. So is Zerorez, with more than 1,000 technicians across over 90 locations.

It connects to BambooHR, Sage People, ADP and TalentHR

The BambooHR link adds new users, deactivates users who leave and syncs finished training back into BambooHR. The Sage People link sends users to TalentLMS and brings completions back in a daily sync. ADP Workforce Now has a daily sync that adds users and deactivates those who leave. That one is a paid integration. TalentHR is the same company’s HR system, and TalentLMS can be bundled with it. The API is on all paid plans.

TalentLMS publishes high completion rates from its customers

Trans Ash, a civil construction company with 1,000 employees, has a 92.5% completion rate. Cash Converters has a 15% rise in course completion, achieved with TalentLibrary. Roland Corporation reports courses completed four times faster. These are TalentLMS’s own customer results, so ask for the same figures from a customer of your size.

It suits frontline teams, trainers of partners and anyone who wants to test before paying

It suits frontline industries and training for partners

TalentLMS supports retail, manufacturing, construction, public sector, finance and healthcare. It is suitable for training both internal and external audiences. Yates Insurance Agency uses it for employee training and partner training. Progress is not tracked for people who take a shared course link without registering. TalentLMS warns that educational institutes and people who only sell courses have found it not ideal.

You can test it for free before you pay

The free plan covers up to 5 users and 10 courses. Registered nonprofits get 20% off the annual plan. At the other end, Flexible pricing starts at 500 users and Enterprise at 1,000 users. Both come by request to sales.

The AI tools, the exit and the terms are where it stops

Most AI tools need Pro or Enterprise, and small plans get a one-time allowance

AI Coach and TalentCraft, its AI course builder, are on the Pro and Enterprise plans. AI test creation starts on Grow. So the AI you see in a demo may not be in your plan. TalentLMS meters its AI in units it calls “AI credits”. Free, Core and Premium Trial portals get a one-time amount that does not renew. That is 1,000 on Free and 5,000 on Core and Premium Trial. Importing a document costs up to 600 “AI credits”, so 5,000 cover at least eight imports. Enterprise gets 80,000 a month. Ask what Grow and Pro get.

Keeping personal data out of the AI depends on your staff and your settings

Under its AI terms, you may not provide personal data to the AI. Yet text sent to OpenAI might include personal data if a user enters it in a prompt. The AI switch is on by default. An administrator can switch it off for the main portal, for branches and for user types. The AI is also not intended for consequential decisions or high-risk uses. You must review and verify AI output before you use or publish it.

The Workday link is a test version

The Workday link is in beta on the Pro and Enterprise plans. Beta means a test version. It creates and updates TalentLMS user accounts from Workday HCM. TalentLMS tested it in the Workato test environment, not in a customer’s Workday environment. Under its terms, beta services are not for operational use. Automatic user setup from your login system works through Okta and Azure AD only.

Your courses cannot leave as packages

TalentCraft courses are designed to work within TalentLMS and are not exported to other platforms. Whole courses cannot be exported as standalone packages. You can export portal data as CSV or Excel files. That export holds tabs for users, courses, categories, branches, groups, custom fields and how they relate. After cancellation, only administrators can log in and reactivate the account.

A skill’s first level rests on the learner’s own word

Skills is on the Pro and new Enterprise plans. A skill has at most two levels. A learner acquires a skill by completing a self-assessment. The learner completes the first level, and an administrator awards the second. So ask how you would check a skill before you use it in a decision about a person.

TalentCards has its own limits on size and reports

The Standard and Premium plans cover up to 2,000 users, and larger needs a custom plan. Users cannot delete an account themselves. Learners can log in with their Microsoft account. TalentCards holds SOC 2 Type I. TalentCards pricing offers exportable completion and engagement data, by group or team, as .xlsx files. One TalentCards help article puts card set analytics online only, with no export. Ask which one is right for your plan.

Its accessibility answer comes in two parts

WCAG is the standard for websites that disabled users can use. One help article puts TalentLMS at partial conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. The same article answers “Is TalentLMS WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliant?” with Yes, after independent audits. TalentLMS points to a WCAG 2.2 conformance report, called a VPAT, on its accessibility page. Ask for that report.

TalentLMS data is held in the United States

AWS hosts TalentLMS in a data centre in N. Virginia, in the United States. For data moving from Europe, Epignosis LLC has certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. It certified to the US Department of Commerce. TalentLMS is also verified compliant with the EU Cloud Code of Conduct. Under its privacy policy, the administrator and designated support staff may access information in and about a user’s account. That covers the communications history.

TalentLMS may change the deal after you sign

Under its terms, TalentLMS may change the agreement on seven days’ notice. It may modify or discontinue the services, features included, without notice. It may change fees for any feature on advance notice. One feature on its pricing page is a promotion and may move to a higher plan in the future. If you buy a plan for one feature, ask for it in writing.

The prices are public, but the plan decides what you get

Two things set your bill. One is which plan holds the tools you want. The other is how TalentLMS counts users.

The tools you want decide the plan. AI Coach and TalentCraft are on Pro and Enterprise. Skills is on Pro and new Enterprise plans. Pro is $449 a month for 1 to 100 users, plus $6 for each additional user. Grow is $229 a month for 1 to 70 users. Enterprise starts at 1,000 users and Flexible starts at 500. Both come by request to sales, and Enterprise plans can only be billed annually.

Its pricing page puts Core at $119 a month for 1 to 40 users. A help article example puts that price on an annual plan, charged $1,428 upfront. Annual pricing is 20% below monthly pricing. Ask what Core, Grow and Pro cost on monthly billing.

TalentLMS prices by the number of unique users who log in to the portal each month. Its Flex add-on allows unlimited registered users, priced on monthly unique logins. TalentLMS adds that this is available up to 500 users on the Pro plan. One help article gives the active-user limits of Core, Grow and Pro as 100, 500 and 1,000. The price bands run to 40, 70 and 100 users. Ask which number applies to you.

Some things cost extra. TalentLibrary is an add-on on all plans. An app under your own brand costs extra and is Android only. The ADP Workforce Now link and the Salesforce Data Connector App are paid integrations. Onboarding packages differ by plan. The Starter package is two weeks of guided onboarding with two expert-led sessions.

TalentCards has its own prices. Standard is $0.80 per user a month and Premium is $1.20. Both are sold in 50-user steps, starting at 50. So 50 users cost $40 a month on Standard and $60 on Premium. TalentCards counts a user when they download the app and join the portal.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may end the agreement for convenience on 30 days’ written notice. Prepaid fees for the unused term are non-refundable. If a renewal payment fails on the 14th day of retries, TalentLMS cancels the subscription. The portal then switches to the Free plan.

TalentLMS aims for 99.9% uptime. For availability from 98.9% to under 99.9%, the “availability credit” is 1% of the monthly fee. That is the sole and exclusive remedy, and it stops at 50% of that month’s fee. Downtime counts only when all of your users cannot use all aspects of the services. An outage that leaves some users or some features working does not count. Your authorised contact must claim within 5 business days after the month ends.

Under its terms, the supplier companies’ total liability stops at the greater of two sums. One is the fees you paid in the prior 12 months. The other is $100. Disputes fall under the laws of the State of Delaware.

You could also run training steps with agents built on your own systems. We have mapped what that looks like. The HR Agent Map

What to ask before you sign

  1. How much AI use does our plan include each month, and what happens when it runs out? Good answer: A number for each plan, and a price for more.
  2. Which limit applies to us, the 40, 70 and 100 price bands or the 100, 500 and 1,000 active-user limits? Good answer: One number, written into the order form.
  3. What will we pay in year one, with every add-on we need? Good answer: One total, with plan, add-ons, onboarding and AI as separate lines.
  4. Will you give us notice before you change features or fees? Good answer: A fixed notice period, written into our order form.
  5. Does any customer run the Workday link in live use? Good answer: A named customer, or a date when the link leaves beta.
  6. Can we take our course content with us when we leave? Good answer: A written export of course content, not only user records.
  7. Can we choose where our data is stored? Good answer: A named region, written into the contract.
  8. Can you send your WCAG 2.2 report and a SOC 2 report for TalentLMS and TalentCards? Good answer: Both reports, dated, before we sign.
  9. What happens to our records if a renewal payment fails? Good answer: A written grace period, and our records kept in full.
  10. What happens to personal data a user types into an AI prompt? Good answer: It is discarded after processing and never used for training.
  11. Which outside companies handle our AI prompts? Good answer: A named list, with what each one receives.

Alternatives to TalentLMS

If TalentLMS does not fit, look at Docebo and iSpring. Risely’s Merlin does a different job. Buying nothing is another route.

Choose Docebo if Workday is your HR system. Its Workday connector imports users from Workday into Docebo. TalentLMS’s Workday link is in beta, which means a test version.

Choose iSpring if you want course-building AI without a plan upgrade. Every iSpring plan includes the iSpring Suite AI tool for building courses. TalentLMS keeps its course-building AI on the Pro and Enterprise plans. The iSpring Business plan costs $6.91 per user per month for 100 users, which is $8,286 a year. It costs $3.97 per user per month for 500 users, which is $23,790 a year.

Merlin is Risely’s AI coach. It delivers no training and keeps no completion records. Choose it for managers practising hard conversations. In roleplay, Merlin plays the other person, such as a defensive direct report or a sceptical VP. The manager practises their approach before the real conversation. Merlin also works through scenarios, such as a team member saying they are thinking about quitting.

Buying nothing yet is a real option. The free plan lets you try TalentLMS before you pay. Count first how many people must finish training each year, and how you record it today.
