Fuse

Fuse is one learning platform with three parts. It holds courses and records, helps people find content and adds an AI coach called Lyra. Where fees depend on user numbers, the order form sets a minimum that stays payable if user numbers fall. Under Fuse’s terms, your team is responsible for reviewing and approving AI output before release.

In one line

A learning platform that holds courses and records, recommends content and adds an AI coach.

Buy it if

You train people outside your own payroll, such as suppliers, partners or customers. You want AI to draft courses and answer learners’ questions. You have a person who will review AI output before it goes out. You can live with a minimum user count in the order form.

Do not buy it if

You need the bill to follow headcount down, and a fixed-fee Enterprise Licence would not suit you. Nobody can review AI output before release.

Price

Ask Fuse for a price. Where fees depend on user numbers, the order form sets a User Floor. That is a minimum number of users you pay for, and it stays payable if user numbers fall. Renewal fees can rise by no more than the lower of 5 percent or consumer inflation, with 60 days’ notice.

Fuse puts courses, a content finder and an AI coach on one platform

Fuse 4.2 is an LMS, an LXP and an AI coach in one platform. An LMS holds courses and learner records. An LXP is a front end where people find content that fits their skills and interests. Fuse’s LXP uses AI recommendations to do that. The AI coach is called Lyra.

Fuse keeps the training records you may have to show. Admins assign learning plans with deadlines and Fuse captures completion of plans and courses for reporting. Reporting drills down to individual learners. Fuse issues a certificate automatically when a learner completes a course and stores it in a profile tab. Admins can set course sections to unlock step by step. Fuse’s step-by-step unlocking serves regulated sectors such as healthcare and finance. Managers, community leads and learning admins each get their own dashboard.

Fuse has AI tools for three jobs. Fuse AI Courses drafts a course from a few prompts, including videos, quizzes and articles. Course+ is Fuse’s AI course authoring tool, built into the platform. Fuse AI Answers gives learners answers based on the learning resources held in the platform. Lyra offers coaching, guided practice and contextual advice. It also runs AI roleplays and scenario practice. Lyra can be used as an add-on to another LMS or as an independent tool.

Learners reach it where they work. Learners on the frontline, at a desk or remote can reach content through the mobile app and a desktop plugin. The LXP gives access to courses and communities through the app, a browser plugin or Teams. Fuse also connects to HR systems, content suppliers and analytics tools.

Uptime, hosting and AI terms are written down in detail

Uptime and response times are promised in writing

Fuse offers a minimum uptime of 99.95 percent per calendar month. Critical issues get a first response in 30 minutes and containment in 4 hours. If uptime falls short, Fuse offsets part of the monthly platform fee. The offset is 5 percent for uptime from 99.95 to 99.0 percent. It is 7.5 percent from 98.99 to 98.0 percent. Below 98.0 percent it is 10 percent. Service, security, auditing and disaster recovery follow Fuse’s ISO 27001 policies.

Hosting is set out for the EU, the US and Asia Pacific

Under its EU addendum, Fuse hosts and processes data on Amazon Web Services in Dublin, Ireland. Under its USA addendum, hosting is on AWS US West (Oregon). Under its Asia Pacific addendum, hosting is on AWS Asia Pacific (Sydney). Under the EU addendum, the only mandatory user data is a unique username. Fuse also holds activity data about users.

Your data stays out of general AI training unless you agree in writing

Under Fuse’s terms, Fuse may use customer data solely to provide the AI features. Fuse shall not use customer data or platform content as training data for general-purpose or third-party AI models. That holds unless the customer gives prior written consent. Where AI features use third-party models, Fuse commits that those third parties keep or reuse no customer data. The customer can disable or opt out of AI features by written notice. The customer owns the AI output generated from its data or user inputs, to the extent the law permits.

The AI features support your people and make no fully automated decisions about staff

Under Fuse’s terms, the AI features assist human decision-making only. They will not make fully automated decisions with significant effects on staff. Fuse will also tell the customer if an AI feature is classed as high-risk.

It suits teams that train outsiders or keep their current LMS

It reaches suppliers, partners and customers, not only employees

SeaSalt rolled Fuse out to all of its 65 or more suppliers in May 2021. Lyra takes the unwritten know-how of top internal performers and serves it as an always-on guide. Fuse aims that guide at outside groups such as partners, distributors or customers. Fuse’s Enterprise Licence covers employees, agents and contractors. Ask how Fuse counts suppliers, partners and customers as users.

Fuse reports onboarding use at Levy, Hilti and IHG

Fuse reports that Levy Restaurants reached 94 percent onboarding completion in under a year. Fuse also reports a 12 percent jump in engagement in that time. It reports that Hilti’s sales onboarding time fell from 15 months to 3 months. Fuse reports that IHG uses it to onboard and develop General Managers.

You can add Fuse to an LMS you keep

If you use an LMS today, replacing it is not the only way to buy Fuse. Fuse’s LXP can sit in front of an existing LMS. Fuse LXP integrates with Workday and SAP as existing LMS platforms. Fuse can also run alongside another LMS that keeps compliance records. Ask for a price for each route.

Your team reviews the AI output, and leaving has a 30-day window

Your team reviews and approves AI output

Under Fuse’s terms, the customer is responsible for reviewing and approving AI output before release. Fuse also tells the customer that AI output may be inaccurate. Fuse AI Courses drafts a course from a few prompts, so the review work lands on your team. Fuse keeps all intellectual property rights in the AI models, algorithms and technology it uses to generate AI output.

Fuse gives two language counts for its AI translation

Fuse’s LMS page gives over 70 languages for Course+. A Fuse article gives 81 languages for Fuse AI Courses. Ask whether these are one tool or two. DeepL SE handles dynamic translations for the platform. It processes them in the EEA, in Finland. Subtitles burned into a video, or AI voice-over translation of videos, can be provided for a separate cost.

Leaving comes with a 30-day window and a bill

On termination Fuse may destroy customer data unless the customer asks in writing within 30 days for the latest backup. The customer pays Fuse’s reasonable expenses of returning or disposing of customer data. Under its EU addendum, Fuse stores user data for the term and 60 days after, then destroys it. Under the same addendum, on termination Fuse returns all personal data at the controller’s discretion and erases copies. The controller is the party that decides how the data is used. The master agreement and the addendum give different windows, so ask how they fit together.

Standard support hours are 24/5

Fuse’s standard support hours are 24/5. Customers reach a support portal where they can view a Fuse knowledge base. Ask which five days the standard hours cover. Ask what cover applies on the other days.

Ask for current accounts before you sign

Fuse Universal Limited is a UK company, incorporated on 2 July 2008. Companies House records a corporate voluntary arrangement, which is a formal debt plan with creditors. A meeting to approve it was set for 29 July 2014. Completion or termination came on 17 September 2015. Fuse secured $10m of growth capital from Education Growth Partners in 2015. Companies House also records share allotments on 16 June 2025 and 28 May 2026. An allotment means the company issued new shares. Ask Fuse for its latest accounts.

Fuse can set a minimum user count and check it

Ask Fuse for a price. Under Fuse’s terms, fees can depend on user numbers. The order form then sets a User Floor, which is a minimum number of users you pay for. The User Floor stays payable if user numbers fall. Fuse also offers an Enterprise Licence, at a fixed fee, for the customer’s employees, agents and contractors to be users.

That wording matters if you want to train suppliers, partners or customers. Ask in writing whether they count as users under the licence. Ask whether they add to the User Floor.

Fuse may audit user numbers and issue a true-up invoice. That is an invoice that adjusts the bill to the real number of users.

The agreement runs for the term in the order form. It then renews for twelve months unless either side gives 60 days’ written notice. Renewal fees can rise by no more than the lower of 5 percent or consumer inflation, with 60 days’ notice. Fuse invoices the first term when the contract starts. It invoices each renewal at least 30 days before the anniversary, and you have 30 days to pay.

Fuse also offers video production and other services. Ask for a price on each.

Under Fuse’s terms, each party’s total liability is capped per calendar year. The cap is the greater of 125 percent of fees paid in the previous 12 months or £100,000.

You could also run training steps with agents built on your own systems. We have mapped what that looks like. The HR Agent Map

What to ask Fuse before you sign

  1. What User Floor will our order form set, and can it fall if our headcount falls? Good answer: A written figure, and a written rule for lowering it.
  2. How do you count suppliers, partners or customers as users? Good answer: One written rule, with an example.
  3. How often will you audit our user numbers, and how is a true-up invoice worked out? Good answer: A fixed method written into the order form.
  4. Will you send the renewal price more than 60 days before our notice date? Good answer: Yes, in writing, with the 5 percent or consumer inflation cap named.
  5. Which language count applies to the product we buy, 70 or 81? Good answer: One number, written into the order form.
  6. What will it cost to return our data, and how do we ask for the latest backup? Good answer: A price before we sign, one written route and a deadline.
  7. Does the offset for low uptime come off our next invoice or get paid out? Good answer: A written answer with an example amount.
  8. What cover applies outside standard support hours of 24/5? Good answer: A named route with a response time.
  9. Which AI features are on at the start, and how do we switch them off? Good answer: A list of features, a written switch-off route and no charge.
  10. Who handles our data for you, and how long do we have to object to a new company? Good answer: A current list, and a set number of days to object.

Alternatives to Fuse, including keeping what you have

Look at Degreed if support cover matters most. Look at 360Learning if you want to build courses from your own files. Risely’s Merlin suits one narrow job. Buying nothing is also a choice.

Support cover is the clearest difference with Degreed. Fuse’s standard support hours are 24/5. Degreed offers telephone support seven days a week from offices in the U.S., India, the Netherlands, Brazil and Australia.

Both Fuse and 360Learning draft courses with AI, and both leave a review step with your team. Under Fuse’s terms, the customer is responsible for approving AI output before release. At 360Learning, the generated course stays in the edit screen so the author can review and adapt it before sharing. The difference is the input. Fuse drafts a course from a few prompts and also offers video production. 360Learning can build from an uploaded PDF, Word or PowerPoint file as well as a prompt.

If the gap is managers practising hard conversations, Risely’s Merlin is an AI coach for that. In roleplay, Merlin plays the other person, such as a defensive direct report or a sceptical VP. The manager practises their approach before the real conversation. Merlin also works through scenarios with the manager, such as a team member saying they are thinking about quitting. Merlin does not deliver courses or keep completion records. It sits beside a learning system, not in place of one. Fuse’s Lyra runs AI roleplays too, so run the same scenario through both.

Weigh the minimum before you sign. Where Fuse’s fees depend on user numbers, the order form sets a User Floor. You keep paying for that many users if user numbers fall.

Sources and method Everything said about Fuse here comes from Fuse’s own pages and contract documents. The pages are its products, articles and customer stories. The documents are its Master Services Agreement, service level agreement, content agreement and data processing addenda. Companies House and a UK trade news report add the company facts. What Fuse publishes about its own product is taken as its description of that product. The Degreed and 360Learning facts come from their own pages. The Merlin facts come from Risely’s product page.
