One platform for staff, customer and partner training

Tovuti runs employee onboarding, mandatory training and customer training on one platform. It serves internal teams and outside audiences. It also sells courses, with e-commerce built in. Tovuti powers learning for more than 460 organisations.

Admins assign courses to user groups or to named users. Team Leads can be given a view of their team’s course progress, learning path progress and transcripts. Managers can then follow their own team. The learner progress report gives a course score, which is the average of the quiz scores in the course. It also gives the time spent on each lesson activity.

For live training, Tovuti Meeting hosts sessions inside the platform. The virtual classroom tracks attendance and time attended. The Event Manager makes in-person or virtual events.

Tovuti accepts AICC, an older course-file standard. It also accepts SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 (2nd to 4th edition). It accepts xAPI too, a standard for sending learning records between systems. Tovuti does not support cmi5, IMS LTI or IMS Common Cartridge. LTI is a standard for opening one learning tool inside another. Check the files you own against this list before you plan a move.

It drafts courses with AI and keeps compliance records

The AI Course Creator drafts a course from a prompt or a file

The AI Course Creator takes a prompt or an uploaded PDF, PowerPoint or Word file. It defines performance goals before it builds content. It translates a whole course with one click. AI-made content is editable and can be regenerated. The Pro edition supports customer-controlled AI endpoints, which means the customer picks the AI service it connects to.

Reminders and records keep compliance training in view

The assignment dashboard gives a completion rate and the percentage still incomplete. Tovuti sends automated emails before a certificate expires. Admins track certificates earned, issue dates and expiry. The learning path progress report carries a next due date and a last completion date. It also carries a status such as Due or Overdue. An e-signature activity inside a lesson collects agreement to handbooks and other required documents.

It connects to BambooHR, Salesforce, Personio and Workday

The BambooHR sync sends course completions into BambooHR, and certificates sync in both directions. Salesforce syncs user and contact data between the two systems. Personio is among its HR connections. The Workday connection imports users and sets up their accounts, and it needs a premium subscription. The ADP connection runs one way. Changes made in Tovuti do not go back to ADP. Tovuti’s API documentation is public, so links can be built to other systems. Zapier, a tool that links apps, connects Tovuti to more than 7,000 of them.

It suits teams that train people beyond their own staff

Outside learners grew at TomTom and Optimist International

Tovuti reports that TomTom’s partner user base doubled in six months. It grew tenfold in a year. TomTom then added two more divisions for enterprise customer and internal employee training. Tovuti also reports that Optimist International trained about 2,500 officers in 2024-25. That compares with roughly 250 before.

Large staff groups and regulated settings

Tovuti unified training for the 18,000 staff of Partners In Health across 11 countries. MOGO chose Tovuti to onboard employees and deliver compliance training in a regulated environment.

Approvals for government and regulated buyers

Tovuti’s FedRAMP approval runs through Knox Systems’ FedRAMP-ready boundary. FedRAMP is the US federal cloud security approval. Its frameworks also include SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, CCPA and PCI. Its compliance page gives WCAG 2.1 AA. Its LMS page gives both WCAG 2.1 and 2.0, Level A and AA. 21 CFR Part 11 is the US rule on electronic records and signatures. Tovuti gives e-signatures and searchable records. Tovuti’s position is that it is not subject to FDA regulations. It gives the reason that it is a SaaS organisation.

Changed courses cannot be exported, and some features need a request

Keep your original files, because changed courses cannot be exported

Tovuti recommends keeping a copy of your original content. Content changed with Tovuti’s tools cannot be exported. The LMS has no course download. Articulate can rebuild the content as SCORM, the standard file format for e-learning courses. On the AI Course Creator page, SCORM export is included. Ask which route covers a course made with the AI tools. The user list exports to CSV. Customers keep their rights to their content and information. Tovuti deletes customer personal data within 30 business days of the service ending.

Tovuti’s pages use different names and access stages for its AI tools

Dizi, Tovuti’s AI assistant for admins, builds lesson content from text or a file. A customer story dated 29 April 2026 calls Dizi the first-generation tool, now known as the AI Content Authoring Tool. WayPoints is a separate tool that works without the Tovuti LMS. The AI disclosure puts Dizi in Private Access. That stage offers features to a select group of customers before release to all. The 2.107.0 release notes move Dizi to open access, available upon subscription. Get the tool your plan includes in writing, by name.

Dizi sends your source text to OpenAI

Dizi sends source content to OpenAI to process. Tovuti tells admins to take care with copyrighted or confidential data in a prompt. Its statements on AI training differ. Tovuti’s AI disclosure adds that the user’s participation contributes to the development and improvement of AI technology. On the AI Course Creator page, customer content is not used to train public models. Ask which one covers your plan.

Yearly retraining may need a request

Tovuti calls Recurring Awards a common solution to annual compliance training. The automatic course progress reset sits in Private Access. Tovuti Support supplies it only on request. Ask whether your plan includes the reset before you rely on it for yearly retraining.

Tovuti can end access without notice, and Service Credits need a written request

The uptime promise is the customer’s main remedy, and Service Credits need a written request. Under Tovuti’s terms, Tovuti may suspend or end access at any time, with or without cause or notice. Under the same terms, payments are non-refundable. Tovuti’s total liability is capped at what the customer paid in the 12 months before the incident. Disputes go to binding arbitration or small claims court, not a jury trial. In the uptime promise, Tovuti will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide 99% availability. Its employee training page puts uptime at 99.9%. Service Credits are a reduction on the next invoice, or a refund if fees are prepaid. A customer must send a written request within 15 days of month end to receive them. A customer can end the contract with a pro-rata refund if availability falls below 95.0%. The same applies if Tovuti misses its uptime promise three or more times in twelve months.

Tovuti is a US company, and EU transfers need your consent

Tovuti is based in the United States, and users consent to the transfer of personal data there. Under its data processing addendum, Tovuti does not transfer data outside the EU or EEA without prior written customer consent. The list of sub-processors, the other companies that handle your data, is available on request.

The list price starts at $7,500 a year for 100 learners

The list price covers the first 100 learners at $7,500 a year, then scales. Pricing is by learner with no hidden fees, and the full platform is included. Longer contracts can lower the price. Nonprofit, government, education and healthcare teams may qualify for sector-specific pricing.

Two things sit outside that. The library of ready-made courses needs its own subscription. The Workday connection needs a premium subscription. The mobile app is a separate question. Branded iOS and Android apps cost an additional fee on Tovuti’s mobile apps page. Its LMS pricing page includes a native mobile app with offline use as standard. Ask which one your quote follows.

Get WayPoints priced in your quote, because Tovuti’s pages differ on whether it costs extra with the LMS. Its Stream page includes WayPoints tools with no extra fees. Its LMS pricing page treats WayPoints as an add-on fee that LMS customers save on. On its own, WayPoints Personal starts at $999 a year for a single creator. Teams starts at $4,000 a year. On its WayPoints pricing page, Teams covers up to 5 creators in one place. The plan card says 5 or more users. Enterprise is custom, and AI is built into every plan.

A US health department obligated $8,500 on a 250-user Tovuti renewal in May 2024. It obligated another $8,500 for the option year in July 2025, which makes $17,000 over 24 months. That is $34 a learner a year. The list price for the first 100 learners works out at $75. A public buyer paid less per learner than the list price for the first 100 learners. Ask whether your sector has its own rate.

What to ask Tovuti before you sign

Which AI course tool does our plan include today, by name, and is it switched on or only on request? Good answer: One named tool, written in the order form, with its access stage.
Does our source text go to OpenAI or any other outside company, and does it help train AI? Good answer: Named companies, and a written promise that our content is not used for training.
Can we take every course with us when we leave, including courses made with Tovuti’s AI tools? Good answer: A written export route for each course type, with any cost.
Does the automatic course progress reset work on our plan for yearly retraining? Good answer: Yes, on our plan, in writing, with no request each year.
Which uptime applies, the 99% in the service level agreement or the 99.9% on the employee training page? Good answer: The higher figure written into the order form.
Is the branded mobile app with offline use inside our price? Good answer: Included, and named in the order form.
What does WayPoints cost on top of the LMS for us? Good answer: One written figure, or a written statement that it is included.
Which other items sit outside the price for the first 100 learners? Good answer: The ready-made course library and the Workday connection, each as its own priced line.

Alternatives to Tovuti, including buying nothing

The alternatives to Tovuti are Coursebox, TalentLMS, EasyLlama and buying nothing.

Coursebox answers the export gap. It exports courses as Dynamic SCORM or Self-hosted SCORM. A Self-hosted export is a standalone copy that needs no connection back to Coursebox, and it keeps working after cancelling. Dynamic SCORM courses stop working on cancelling, even in another system. Run from a laptop or USB stick without an LMS, a Self-hosted course tracks nothing. Every Coursebox plan has unlimited learners. The self-serve Pro + LMS plan is A$4,200 a year with one admin.

TalentLMS has a plan for the same entry size. Its Pro plan is $449 a month for 1 to 100 users, plus $6 for each extra user. At $449 a month, twelve months cost $5,388. Tovuti’s list price is $7,500 a year for the first 100 learners. Annual pricing is 20% below monthly pricing, so ask which billing term sits behind $449. Tovuti’s library of ready-made courses needs a separate subscription. EasyLlama sells compliance and security training of its own. It is one of the partners that supply curated content to Tovuti Stream. EasyLlama delivers AI translations of its compliance courses at no additional cost. Ask Tovuti what the library subscription costs on top of the list price, so you can weigh the two.

Buying nothing means doing without Tovuti’s certificate expiry emails and its e-signature activity. If your training is one signed document a year, price those two features against the list price.
