Ready-made courses that BambooHR assigns, reminds and records

BambooHR announced Compliance Training on 21 October 2025. Under BambooHR’s addendum, EasyLlama provides the services, not BambooHR. BambooHR handles assigning, reminders, tracking and reporting. Set-up happens inside BambooHR with no installation.

An admin picks from the courses that the BambooHR plan includes and assigns them by role, department or location. After that, BambooHR handles recurring training and bulk assignments. Admins can also let employees mark their own training items complete. Decide whether that is acceptable for a required course. It needs the employee’s access level under Training set to View Only.

Employees learn at their own pace in short interactive lessons. EasyLlama’s courses work on phones, tablets and computers. Every course has English and Spanish narration and subtitles in 11 languages. BambooHR’s launch press release puts 300+ courses in 10 languages. When employees finish, they can download their own completion certificate. Course content also includes an anonymous reporting tool. It lets staff report a concern without giving their name. EasyLlama licenses it to BambooHR.

BambooHR also has BambooHR Learning, which is run on Northpass. Ask which product a quote covers.

Records build themselves, and retired courses keep their certificates

No extra charge, but your plan and your term set the bill

Compliance Training comes with your BambooHR plan at no extra cost. The plan is where the cost sits. For companies with more than 25 employees, BambooHR prices its HR software per employee per month. It starts at $10.25 on Core, $17.50 on Pro and $25 on Elite. All three prices are in US dollars. More courses means a higher plan.

Companies with 25 employees or fewer pay a monthly flat rate by plan. That rate is $250 on Core, $425 on Pro and $650 on Elite. Volume discounts apply automatically by headcount. BambooHR also offers registered nonprofit organisations an extra 15% off.

The courses come with the HR plan, so the HR contract sets what you pay for them. Under BambooHR’s terms of service, a month-to-month subscription can be terminated at any time. On that subscription, BambooHR can change prices on 60 days’ notice. It can do so not more than once a calendar year per package. An upgrade for more courses is a plan change.

An extended-term subscription works differently. You cannot cancel it before the term ends, and the fees are non-refundable. It renews automatically for 12-month terms unless you give 60 days’ notice. Its fees carry an employee minimum that BambooHR bills regardless of usage. Check the course list before you sign an extended term.

Leaving involves two contracts. After a subscription is not renewed, you can download your Customer Data for 30 days under BambooHR’s terms. EasyLlama’s terms let you export completion data on written request within 60 days of termination. Your account must be paid in full.

What to ask before you rely on it

1. Are our required topics on Pro, or only on Elite, and what does the move cost? Good answer: A named list of courses for each plan and a written price for the move.
2. Which languages does each course come in? Good answer: A list for each course that covers narration and subtitles.
3. Will you confirm in writing that a named course meets the law for our staff? Good answer: A written answer for each course we name.
4. Will you put an availability promise for these courses in the order? Good answer: Yes, with a percentage and a remedy when it is missed.
5. If BambooHR ends its EasyLlama agreement, how much notice do we get? Good answer: A notice period in writing, and a yes on keeping certificates in BambooHR.
6. Which window covers our certificates and completion records, the 30 days or the 60 days? Good answer: One written answer that covers both windows, the export format and the paid-in-full condition.
7. When will video and SCORM files from our own library work? Good answer: A date, or a plain list of the file types that work now.
8. Which companies does EasyLlama use to handle our staff’s data? Good answer: A named list and a hosting country, in writing from EasyLlama.

Alternatives to BambooHR Compliance Training, including adding nothing

Three products sit beside BambooHR Compliance Training. They are EasyLlama, TalentLMS and iSpring.

EasyLlama also sells a separate learning management system. Uploading custom content there needs an LMS package subscription. EasyLlama sells SCORM Import & Hosting, with unlimited uploads. Its SCORM pricing is an add-on on Pay Per Course, Core and Ultimate. In this route your agreement is with EasyLlama itself, not with BambooHR. Ask EasyLlama what its own agreement promises on availability and notice.

TalentLMS has a BambooHR link. It adds users, turns off accounts for people who leave and syncs completed TalentLMS training into BambooHR. Training you run in TalentLMS then reaches the BambooHR record. TalentLMS also includes SCORM 1.2, Tin Can and cmi5 course files on all plans.

Where TalentLMS syncs finished training, iSpring’s link covers user details, departments, supervisors, course assignments, certificates and user status. The link also exports course completions and certificates to the BambooHR profile. The link works only on cloud versions of iSpring. SCORM 1.2 and 2004 courses work in iSpring LMS.
